Im assuming you mean vehicle speed not engine speed , if so it's not hard , locate under car where the output shaft (drive) comes out of back of transmission , on drivers side of car move your hand up a few inches till you feel a small electrical connector just ahead of there , that's it!! removes with a 5/16th nutdriver two bolts if lots of fluid comes out hole that's why it went bad in the first place !! the internal seal inside transmission has went bad

Output speed sensor is the same thing. Sending a picture. It unscrews. Look straight down between the radiator and transmission.

SOURCE: locassion of output speed sensor on 2003 Town and Country

The input and output speed sensors look identical on the connector side. The one over the solenoid pack is the input, the one closer to the left frame rail or left front wheel is the output sensor. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: where is the speed sensor in town & country

There are 2 speed sensors on your vehicle, an input speed sensor and an output speed sensor. Below is a pic showing the front of your transmission. The input sensor is closest to the engine. Both sensors look the same.

2001 chrysler town country limited. Check engine light is on with a code P740. transmission shifts very well .What is up with this code and what needs to be replaced? also the ac is cold on the passenger...

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction, it could be a sensor starting to go bad, have the code cleared and see if it happens again, have you ever had your transmission fluid replaced, (do not have it flushed) might want to do that as a Preventive Maintenance item.

A/C problem could be the A/C controls on the dash are not working properly, the doors inside the dash are not closing completely, letting warm blended air in on the driver's side.

Replace the input speed sensor on a 2001 chrysler town and country 3.8

The input speed sensor is located directly below and a little to the right of the cooler lines that are going into the transmission. IF you are standing in from of the car, remove the air breather or anything else that prevents you from getting down in on the driver side. There are two seemingly similar plugs at 9o'clock to the rear of the motor. The one closest to the motor is the input, the one further back is the out put.

It just unscrews and you screw the new on in.

Hope this helps
