There are several things to look at and check for a no start situation. Did the dealer diagnose the wiring? to replace all of it? I would think that if all the wiring had to be replaced, it would have taken out some computers also. You have many on this car. If you don't have compression, it cold be timing. If the timing is good, then the rings are bad. This would cause major oil leaks. I would do my own compression test and check the timing belt/chain.

SOURCE: engine cranks car won't start
Sorry..... 1 notch off is just not good enough. It has to be exact , then if it doesn't run start looking at other posibilities.
Remember that the camshaft turns twice eash time the crank turns once. The distributor rotor works off a gear on the cam.
Your rotor could be off a bit , or it could look exactly perfect the way it was when tou took it out , and still be 180 degrees off.
You have to get your engine to "top dead center" and make sure everything is the way it should be.
A timing chain ( or belt ) can cause permanent and fatal damage to the valve train and pistons in motors that are "interference engines" Find out weather yours is. In a non-interference engine , the clearance between the valves and the pistons is large enough to alow them to move out of time without crashing into each other. An interference engine is not so forgiving.
The fact that your engine cranks makes me hopefull that it is a non interference engine , and that damage has not been done.
Try to find a haynes manual for you vehicle , it will walk you through the steps for most repairs.
SOURCE: where is the oil filter located on a 2006 sts
the oil filter is not a regular looking filter, its a cartriage type that goes into a housing, if you open the hood and look on the driverside of motor near the oil fill cap you will see a cover cap with a nut shape head on top, use a 24mm socket on a rachet and unscrew the cover, then pullfilter out, install new filter and replace oring provide with filter on the cap. hope this helps.

SOURCE: I Have a 1997 cadillac sts over heating problem
The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.
SOURCE: how to change a headlight on a 2006 cadillac sts
To remove the headlight assembly you need to remove the front bumper cover. There are two bolts and one stud with a nut that hold the headlight in. Two of the fasteners are behind the bumper cover. If you remove these the headlight must come out.
