Check the main lug on the starter motor. on "most" cars the positive battery cable goes three places. 1)the power distribution box 2) The starter motor & 3) the Altenator. If the cable is loose or it turned green with corrosion there's your problem. Your ground cable is also suspect. Sometimes there are a bunch of ground wires that come together at a bolt on the bell housing. Also there can be a ground "strap" from the engine to the frame. one last note has any work been done to the jeep recently ? I had a customer who had a ground wire to the exhaust manifold by mistake. As the exhaust pipe heated up the resistance changed and it reeked havoc on the electrical system. once it cooled down everything fine. If I was a betting man, I'd give those cables a good look. Do an electrical load test on the battery too

2000 Jeep Cherokee Laredo P0455 & P0765 limp mode and dies driving!

4.7L jeep
the p07 code is tranny error.
cutting off all power means , power to rear wheels or DC battery power to some things ,electrical things die?)
on all cars, DC power must be good first or the computers fail or go mad.
P0455 is gas cap loose, ignore it until all else is cured.
unless cap is missing sure.
Shift Solenoid "D" Malfunction. 0755

fix DC power distribution problems first.
bad grounds, bad connectors, alternator weak or dead
fuses blown or loose
loose wire lugs, or connectors.
rusty ground lugs wires.

title ,DIES Driving.
so dies means engine stalls. not tranny slip right.?
if is stalling can you save the stall before it completes the stall
by fast right foot actions
when it stalls tell the helper all other electrical things that die at the event. Radio dead, head lamps and parking lamps dead.
heater or AC cool blower dead?

Seems to me a pure electrical failure so far.

My sons1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the gauges light on and would not start like battery was dead. Had it jump started and it started. When he put in park it stalled jumped again and worked.

Sounds like a charging system problem and the alternator may not be working. The gauge light will come on if the charging gauge is showing low so you will look at the gauges. Have the battery and charging system tested

1996 Grand Jeep Cherokee stalling

no, this will not drain your battery, but it sounds like the battery and charging system are working. there must be a draw on the system, you will need to have someone hook up a tester to check for the draw and work back from what they find.

Buzzing sound under dash of 95 jeep grand cherokee

There can't be any noise after 5 minutes. There are capacitors that take a few minutes to drain down. It could be your clock winding or your abs cycling. Listen and see if it's coming from your fuse box a relay

All wheel drive v8 issues 96 Jeep Grnd Cherokee Ltd

Any all wheel drive will give less fuel miles.(compared to ones you engage as needed) The Chrysler v8 is a time proven engine, pretty much a copycat of a chevy with some changes to make it their own. Overall, I haven't heard any really bad stuff about them. If you look at the problems on this site, there seem to be fewer jeep probs than all other vehicles. (even though some problems are really weird!!!)
What you really need to see is the vehicles history to make sure it's been maintained and has not been back to a shop for the same thing over and over.
Good luck!
