Hi my renault sandero1 1.6 2010 model.. immobilizer stopped working and is no longer starting

Possible causes: Damaged antenna, lack of synchonization with the key, electronic failure with the immobilizer or the computer it accesses. This well may call for a Renault specialist to diagnose but here is what you can try:

To address this issue, consider the following steps:

  1. Disable Immobilizer and Start Engine Without It:
    • Obtain the pin code (usually available from the immobilizer itself or through dealers).
    • Try starting the engine without the immobilizer. If successful, this indicates an immobilizer-related issue.
  2. Inspect Soldering on the Immobilizer:
    • Visually check the quality of soldering connections on the immobilizer.
  3. Remove Aftermarket Devices:
    • Turn off any additional devices (e.g., aftermarket radio) that were not part of the manufacturer's original setup.
  4. Check Wiring Integrity:
    • Inspect the wiring for any visible damage.
  5. Verify Lighting and Reversing Lights:
    • Ensure proper functioning of lighting systems.
  6. Consider Temperature Effects:
    • If possible, leave the car indoors to avoid extreme cold, which can affect immobilizer performance.
  7. Check Neutral Position:
    • Confirm that the transmission is in the "neutral" position before starting the engine.

Immobiliser issues Kia sportage . 2012 AWD Cranks but won't start . Immobiliser light comes on .

If the immobilizer light is coming on and the engine is cranking but not starting, it's likely that the immobilizer system is not recognizing the key and is preventing the engine from starting. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the battery in the key fob: Make sure the battery in the key fob is not dead. A low battery can cause the immobilizer system to not recognize the key.
  2. Try a different key: If all three keys are not working, it's possible that the immobilizer system itself is faulty. Try a different key to see if the problem persists.
  3. Check the immobilizer system: If the problem persists with all keys, it's possible that there is a problem with the immobilizer system itself. This could be a faulty immobilizer module, antenna coil, or wiring. You may need to have the system diagnosed and repaired by a professional mechanic.
  4. Check the fuel system: If the immobilizer system is not recognizing the key, the fuel system may not be primed correctly. Check the fuel pressure and ensure that the fuel pump is working properly.
It's important to have this issue diagnosed and repaired as soon as possible to avoid further damage to the engine or electrical system. If you're unsure about driving the vehicle, have it towed to a repair shop.

Replaced sterring colum now it wont start

S (Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System-NATS) has the following immobilizer functions: Since only NVIS (NATS) ignition keys, whose ID nos. have been registered into the ECM and IMMU of NVIS (NATS), allow the engine to run, operation of a stolen vehicle without a NVIS (NATS) registered key is prevented by NVIS (NATS). That is to say, NVIS (NATS) will immobilize the engine if someone tries to start it without the registered key of NVIS (NATS). All of the originally supplied ignition key IDs have been NVIS (NATS) registered. If requested by the vehicle owner, a maximum of five key IDs can be registered into the NVIS (NATS) components. The security indicator lamp blinks when the ignition switch is in "OFF" or "ACC" position. Therefore, NVIS (NATS) warns outsiders that the vehicle is equipped with the system. When NVIS (NATS) detects trouble, the security indicator lamp lights up while ignition key is in the "ON" position. NVIS (NATS) trouble diagnoses, system initialization and additional registration for other NVIS (NATS) ignition key IDs must be carried out using CONSULT-II hardware and CONSULT-II NVIS (NATS) software. Regarding the procedures for NVIS (NATS) initialization and NVIS (NATS) ignition key ID registration, refer to CONSULT-II OPERATION MANUAL IVIS/NVIS. When servicing a malfunction of the NVIS (indicated by lighting up of Security Indicator Lamp) or registering another NVIS ignition key ID no., it is necessary to re-register original key identification. Therefore, be sure to receive ALL KEYS from vehicle owner. System Composition NIEL0174 The immobilizer function of the NVIS (NATS) consists of the following: NVIS (NATS) ignition key NVIS (NATS) immobilizer control unit (IMMU) located in the ignition key cylinder ECM Security indicator lamp.

03 Santa Fe car sometimes won't start but only when immobilizer light stays on will start after a while has power just wount start

Yes. Immobilizer lamps that stay on or continue flashing indicate the vehicles immobilizer has not recognized a valid key. Depending on the system, the vehicle may start with a correct rotation but invalid key, or it may not crank. Your problem us most likely a defective key, however the immobilizer antenna could also be weak and not properly picking up the key. Both problems will require a dealer or technician or locksmith with special tools to learn new keys to your immobilizer.

97 audi A6 Quattro immobilized - just died in traffic - doesn't make a sound when you turn the key- all lights work so it's not battery. Starter replaced last year. Recent indicator light: brake light -...

A few things to note:
1. Just because the lights come on doesn't mean that there is enough power to start the car. It could still be a battery issue, or the alternator, but not likely from what you describe.

2. Have the OBD system scanned with a VAG-COM and see what errors show up. Most auto parts stores (like autozone) will scan it for free, or you can purchase one (it's a good investment) at http://www.ross-tech.com/ for a couple hundred dollars.

Security and Immobilizer System Indicator Symbols Symbols & Tell-tales
engine_immobilizer.gifsecurity_indicator_symbol.gifThese are Security and/or Immobilizer System Indicator symbols used by manufacturers. One of these symbols lights momentarily to indicate that the ignition switch is locked and will need the proper transponder-equipped key to re-start. The vehicle is immobilized otherwise. Green symbols will flash when the vehicle is immobilized.
lock.gifIf the symbol is visible when the vehicle is on, it indicates a malfunction in the security system. If the engine does not start with the correct key, and the security indicator remains on, the system may have a malfunction. You will need to contact your dealer in either case.
Keep the Symbol meanings with you!

My car would not start after putting on new battery. All the lights come on when I turn the key on but when I try to start it I don't even hear a click.

IGNITION COIL sometimes the problem, try replacement products which is way cheaper. also have you checked your sparkplugs? they are only good for 2yrs sometimes not. also check your distributor cap where the sparkplugs cables are connected, and make sure you put it back same place and position. clean and with piece of cloth maybe it is wet or rusty. always disconnect the negative of your battery cable when doing under the hood. fill up your car wd 8 0z of fuel injector cleaner 8 oz. and let yourcar run for few minutes to eliminate carbon deposits cause to clogging. you can pull it out too if you wanted and disconnect the 2 hose and clips before you try to pull out the injector and spray with injector cleaner and leave it for 8 hrs and rinse it wd the same cleaner.
