My 07 Lincoln Towncar went thru water and turned off. It clicks when I try to start my car up. Is it the distributor cap or something else?

A click usually means a bad connection or low power.

Try to clean the battery terminals ,charge the battery or have it tested.

SOURCE: 1997 Lincoln Towncar. Shifter stuck in park

There is a switch mounted on the arm of the brake pedal (under a plastic cover held on with 3 plastic push-pins). There is an electical connection attached to this switch. In my case one of the wires had broken and was not supplying electricity to the switch. By fixing the broken wire it allowed the shifter to properly move and got the brake lights working again.

1990 Lincoln Towncar, 5.0 L V-8 has a no start hot problem. It starts good when cold but will only crank continually with no engine start when hot. It does have an ignition spark from the coil to the...

Try replacing the water temperature sensors. Sometimes there are 2 with one working the dash and the other working the engine. You are probably running too lean. The "cold start sequence" kicks in at a cold to warm temperature. If the sensor is stuck on hot it will be too lean to start.

You might try a new thermostat that may be more responsive than your old one. Check air filter for condition.

2004 chevy blazer drove through lots of water on the freeway but now it won;t start?

It IS possible that you went thru a bunch a water that may have slipped underneath the back hood seal, which could of gotten inside the distributor cap located right under the seal. Symptoms of this: will turn over, but not start. An old trick is to take the cap off and spray WD40 under the cap on the contacts and the rotor. The WD in WD40 stands for Water Displacement, so completely safe for this use, used it many times myself. In my case it was on purpose offroading in mud/water. :) Careful while taking the cap off, the tabs that the screws go into are plastic! Will break easily if not careful when re-installing.

1998 Lincoln continental won't start, tries but just grinds. Just washed the car two days ago lots of water got under the hood as I chased pine needles out of the base of windshield.

If the car has a distributor cap (some lincolns have a distributorless system) the cap probably has moisture in it. Spray a little starter fluid around the cap and wires to dispel any moisture.
