Power windows operate by a motor that lifts or lowers the glass panel. Once the motor jumps the track, it's time to replace the entire motor assembly.....you'll have to remove the interior door panels, usually screws and pop in type barbs glued to the door panels. It's not hard, but it does take some patience....

Electric window 95 wrx

it could be a posibility of things it could be a loose wire in the door or it could be the motor being to weak to pick the window all the way back up. to fix it you have to take off the door panle and check all the wires if they seem fine without brakes in the wire then its the motor try rooling up the window and see wht the motor does. if it does anything at all then it could be the track the window sits in

The rear passenger window will not roll up.

Soundls like your window motor went bad. Could also be window regulator or just a bad wiring conection. Take off door pannel and check the connections and the motor. Hope that helps

The motor is shot...it still runs but is about to go out, it no longer has the power it needs..replace the motor, or the entire motor regulator assembly and you will be fine.

My 1995 4runner backdoor or window won't open

Does the back interior light work? if no, chances are you have the #1 problem with back windows in 4runners, a connection under the back door panel, works itself loose, just plug it back together tight.otherwise check the fuse.#2 if that doesn't work did you bump into the back door, motor placement is sensitive to dings, and gets stuck. if not those prob a motor? i think i am not a mechanic.

Electric windows won't go up

try to replace the motor. you might have to drill out rivets. if so and you buy new one from parts store, they should come with bolts and nuts. If you get one from junk yard, you would have to buy bolts and nuts.

The windows in the back seat won't go up...there was no sound...one window is stuck about 5 inches from the top and won't go up or down

Try replacing the fuse for your back windows or you might have to replace the electric motor that operates the back windows.

Driver window wont roll up

If you have power windows it is your heat sensor on the motor. this can be fixed by taking the motor out (tedious job) and taking off the heat sensor (a piece of metal that is rectangular on the inside of the motor). You can also buy a new motor (best method)

If you have roll up windows you might have a screw loose in the mechanism. I suggest taking off the door panel (usually a few screws on the bottom and some pop pins on the sides (do this carefully as the pins can be brittle). From there look to see if anything is loose or jammed in the window mechanism,.

If you have no clue what you are doing find someone who does or bring it into a shop to get it fixed as you could cause more problems than it is if you screw something up.

Good luck

Have you tried replacing the master window switch? Just because the other windows work doesnt mean that switch for that window is good.

The main switch is controled by the drivers door main unit.....i had to use a forward force on my windows switch for it to work....so replaced the whole unit, you could find those on ebay cheap if local auto parts is expensive
