I need to put 134A refrigerant in my 2004 Grand

The lowside port is located by the firewall next to the brake booster and the highside is located next to the air filter box towards the bottom.

I need to retrofit and recharge my 1988 Dodge Ram Ac.

First, the old R-12 must be completely evacuated fromt the system. R-12 and R-134A do not mix and won't function together. Once you are sure there's no R-12 left in the system, you need to install an R-134A fill valve on the low side AC line. This is where your refill hose will connect to add R-134A. Once the valve is in place you're ready to fill the system. The compressor requires a minimum of 20psi to engage and should not be filled to more than 45psi.

RECHARGING AC SYSTEM

1.Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH
2.Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
3.Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
4.Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
5.Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
6.You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
7.Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck
8.If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective
Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

Location of low pressure air conditioning port?

Follow the biggest a/c line from start to finish.Usually the a/c port is located near the firewall.I have seen the port located under the passenger wheel well. There should be a decal that states the type freon on or near the fan shroud, core support or on the under side of the hood.It is most likely to be type r-12.You can purchase an r-134a conversion kit. If you are not a/c certified to use r-12,you do not need certification for r-134a.

Air Conditioning

#1 you will need r134a freon. #2 the low side service port is located right at the firewall where tha line goes to the evaporator. #3 if wou bought a can of 134a freon with a hose that will hook to it, it will work. all service fittings for 134a freon are the same even though the high side and the low side will always differ

Location of low pressure port A/c to added 134a

Down low between the radiator and the engine. Look for the cap. Very hard to reach without burning your hand if the engine is hot. I had to rig a much longer hose to add 134a so the can would be upright while putting it in.
