Chec fluid level and condition. Old fluid becomes thic n slow. Make sure trans.cooling lines are not cloggd...heat kills an automatic. Car may just need seals rebuilt .....junkyard or jaspar if replacin
sometimes one problem will set off another,so your cataline converter could be cloged or tailpipe witch will make you lose power and may set off other sensors.just a thought. rodger...

Now personally, I don't think a reflash can be done on a '94 model, that is still OBD-1, but I cannot speak with certainty.
sounds like you have a worn syncronizer. unless it gets really bad, you can keep driving like that, be gentle with those shifts and you shouldnt have any problems. changing the fluid may help prolong the life. if it gets bad, the transmission will have to be rebuilt.
