Sometimes car will not start.also other times the fuel pump will not activate,and will not start the car.will leave you stranded.when this happens,you 3-4 hours later,can go back to car,and it will start for you.I am a female.please help me find this goast! thanks Patricia
Sounds like a bad connection on your ignition switch or wiring in the fuel pump circuit.
You have a non OEM (Ford/Lincoln) gas cap?
The cheap gas caps do not vent correctly and cause a vapor lock in your tank. As the gas is removed it creates a suction and the pump is not able to pump fuel. After sitting for 2-3 hrs the suction is lost and the car works again. This is the most common ghost I know.
Next time you have this starting problem, take the gas cap off and see if it starts. If it does buy a new gas cap.
