Open the drivers door and look at the left side of your dash...should see a flat pry off panel labled fuses...Some fuse slots are marked with what they control...dome light will be included with dash-lights, radio, windows etc...It would be best if you have an owners manual to confirm the exact fuse...(probably controls more than just the dome light...Are you sure ALL of the door sensors are clean and working? Locate each switch at the closing spot on each door...spray with lubricant PB Blastor, wipe off excess...probably a dirty door switch, not the dome light...Hope this helps.

Some fuse boxes have a diagram on the box cover.
Hope this is true.

If you would like to go to www.autozone.com they have all the diagrams there. Just enter all your car info and they will have a list of "Components Location"

DOME MUST WORK TOO KEY OFF. AND HL.
THE FUSE ON DOME IS HOT ALL THE TIME
MEANS 12VDC ALL DAY LONG BATTERY NOT DEAD. SEE?

yes all cars have 2 stage or more , power system
gee just like homes really.
there is this HUGE fuse in the engine bay that feed the CAB box
of tiny fuses.
the service manual from Toyota every ever inch of this.
some cars have 3 or 4 fuse boxes. 2in cab 2 in bay
so not using the SM you miss them, the users guide in the glove box shows them,., lost that?

I will no read your manual to you, for lost
ignition on or of on dome, ecu-b no.1, and radio no.1
answer is: USA answer only sorry no books USA for outside USA>Ok?
radio dead is fuse1 or 2 blown.
so head lamps work key on and key off
starter motor dead? will not crank
IMMO lamp not showing IMMO security not failing? SMARTKEY?
dash heater blower dead too on high key on.
if all those are dead then he battery is dead for sure or fuses I list last below.(secondary fuse or primary can fail)
dead PCM ,, Fuse 1,30amp EFI-main, underhood,

lets do dome, I like easy fixeS as THOSE sure do fix the 20pageS of dead PCM?? huh)(SURE DOES)
DOME DEAD.
has only this:

the dome fuse not 12vdc both sides even KEY OFF
is a dead car battery
or FL main blown.
FL _MAIN IS FUSE LINK, 100+ AMPS IS BLOWN
IF JUMPER CABLES DO NOT MAKE ALL THINGS WORK
THE FL_MAIN IS DEAD. BLOWN OUT.

THE PROBLEM WITH ALL POSTS LIKE THIS ONLY THE DEAD ARE REPORTED OF 100 THINGS IN THE CAR THAT USE 12VDC.
SADLY i MUST GUESS BELOW IS BAD
THIS CAR HAS VERY ODD PCM CONTROL OF HEADLAMPS
PCM DEAD HEAD LAMPS DIE, THIS IS UNSAFE,
HEADLAMPS ARE SAFETY FEATURE, THAT MUST ALWAYS WORK.
ODD THIS ,SAME GOES FOR DOME, AND IS UNSAFE, IMO
maybe the PCM has backup extra circuits to keep park and headlamps working with all? PCM fuses blown? IDK be a fun test
a car breaks down at night needs these lamps no mater what.(battery good only)
always test HL first. head. on all cars, dead. the the IMMO and last all fused, and if can scan the PCM>

06 Ford Fusion dome light comes on for about 3 to 4 minutes then goes out for about 5 minutes and comes back on and now battery is dead!

In my opinion, the problem is in the smart junction box. If you pull that fuse, it should kill the dome lamp till you figure out the problem? I'm not sure of sjb location, it might be under driver side dash?

How do I find out which fuse is for my dash board lights when I dont have my manual?

The door ajar light doens't have a separate fuse. But you can probably fix the problem in 15 minutes:
  1. Make sure all doors and trunk close tightly. Lean hard against each door, starting with the driver's, because it is the most likely since it gets the most use. Watch the light. If it goes out, you're halfway there - you've located the problem door.
  2. Squirt some WD-40 into each door's switch. They may be located near the hinge, or near the latch. Press the button repeatedly and then wipe it off. That may fix the problem.
  3. Next, it could be the alignment of the door and strike plate on the jamb. Adjust the latter until the light goes out.
If that doesn't do it:
  1. Dont worry about the battery going dead from the indicator light staying on - it draws too little current. But if a dome light (or trunk light) stays on, it will drain the battery in a number of hours.
  2. You didn't say whether the dome light stayed on. If so, or if you have any other information, please post it and I'll try to help you determine the next steps.
Has this helped ?

Buick parts diagram

Sounds like you might have what's called a parasitic draw on your battery. Parasitic draw is an electrical component staying on after you turn the car off (that isn't supposed to be staying on) and draining the battery over night. This can be caused by a multitude of things- the light in the glovebox staying on, an aftermarket accessory incorrectly installed to your vehicle, or malfunctioning, a factory component in the car malfunctioning and staying on, a power seat switch stuck on... the list goes on and on. The easiest things to check would be your dome lights, trunk lights, sun visor lights, glove box lights, and seat switches. Make sure the lights are all off after you take the key out and close the doors. Make sure none of the power seat switches are stuck on. If you can't find anything checking the lights and seats, you're going to need a digital multimeter connected to the battery to measure amps, to measure the actual parasitic draw. Once you establish how much parasitic draw there is (30 MilliAmps or less is acceptable), you're going to need to start pulling fuses one at a time to find out where the parasitic draw is coming from. When you pull a fuse and the parasitic draw on the meter goes away, you've isolated the circuit. Then you'll need to find what on that circuit is using power when it shouldn't be.
Good Luck :)

(1997 GMC Jimmy) Battery will randomly go dead

I would check for a draw. You can do this by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and hooking a test light from the cable to the battery. The light will be on if something is taking power off of the battery such as, dome light, glove box light, radio ect. make sure to have doors shut and everything off when you do this so it wont give you a false reading. If the light is on, you have a draw. if it is off you dont have a draw. Then from there you can figure out where the draw is coming from by opening the drivers door and accessing the fuse panel(OPENING THE DOOR WILL KEEP THE LIGHT ON BECAUSE IT WILL OPEN TH ECIRCUIT FOR THE DOME LIGHT, YOU CAN TAPE OR HOLD THE SWTICH INSIDE THE DOOR JAMB TO CLOSE THE CIRCUIT)when you access the fuse panel you can pull each fuse 1 at a time until the light goes off, when the light goes off. check what the fuse is for, that is where your draw is coming from. Common draws come from a faulty radio or glove box light stays on.

My dome lights will not work in 1995 ford contour.  I believe it is the fuse but need diagram of box to know which one to replace

the fuse box itself is usually under the dash on the driver side and the lid of the fuse box should have the diagram of what goes to what but if there is not one then try a Ford dealer for a diagram or get a 12 volt tester and check the fuses that way to see which is which
