I got a cts 04 Was driving fine pulled in drive way put n park & took foot off break but was stuck on nutral tried to turn car back on but won't crack or turn over .will only start if I put car on nutral .

I think that your crank angle sensor failed. Is the check engine light on?? if so, scan it and get code. If the code is P0335, than you need new crank angle sensor. Nissan has been having some problems with those even on other Nissan products. (Altima, Pathfinder and so on) Good luck.

hi it sounds like the acclerrator pump on carby when you first take off is this whot it dose .

look under the car at the gear box for the gear leaver to see if its moving when you try to get another gear,,if it dont move there is a fault in the gear selector not the gear box,,,

Since those incidents of runaway cars, they installed an interlock to prevent you from shifting out of park unless you have the brake firmly pressed down.
While checking and fixing a bad brake light switch is a good idea, the interlock was not, so I would just remove it.
It is unreliable, as the solenoid and connections fail commonly, and it is not worth the risk of not being able to drive. That is far more dangerous then the silly thing the interlock was intended to prevent.

I had the same noise on my wife`s 03 cts. It was the the rubber bushing on the shifting arm from the shift lever to the trans. The arm was 250.00 plus I installed myself. Very easy to get to. Bad design should not have went bad.
