SOURCE: shifter stuck in second gear
Your shift linkage has come undone. Jack the car up and climb underneath. You shift linkage is either com undone from the trans or you shift stabelize bad has come undone at the shift arm.
SOURCE: saturn shifter linkage
Check the cable clips at the trans. Sometimes these clips come out and won't shift. Horseshoe clips that hold the cable housing.
SOURCE: car will not shift into gear
Sounds like a linkage/cable to me. Disconnect the linkage at the transmission and move the shift actuator by hand to see if there is the same things happening. Don't try to do this with the engine running unless someone is holding the brake inside the car.
SOURCE: im unable to put the car from neutral to 1st gear. its stuck!
Sounds like the syncranizer is bad

Hi,
You have the same problem as a previous guy, its the ball and socket at the end of the gearstick, its worn out, or just popping out of it's socket so the bolts holding it down or the large nut the is holding the gearstick in needs tightening. So best to remove it, check for wear and if it is ok then use a loctite glue to refit the main nut over the gear lever.
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
