94 Nissan Altima will turn over but not start. The dash and clock will not light up at all. Previous problems were minor but now no real fire. Has a good battery.

SOURCE: 1998 Nissian Altima Not starting

Nothing by either party was said about the starter. The battery and wires can all be in great shape, and if they are and the owner hears a clicking noise when trying to start it its a pretty good bet they may have a starter that's locked up.

One good 'ole trick on those starters. If you can reach the starter, a couple of sharp rapes with a hammer will have it starting again, then you know it time to replace the starter.

SOURCE: brake lights will not turn off on my 94 Nissan Altima

Your problem should be that the rubber stops that are mounted at the top of your break pedal came out or are worn down too much to press the buttons all the way in.
What they do is push the button that switches off your break lights when the break pedal is released (yes, kind of backwards way to design it, i know). That's why your lights stay on even when your car is off. I had to go to the junkyard to find replacements for mine and they are a ***** to replace.
They are chipped away easily by the break switches when your car shakes badly over a prolonged period of time. Like driving a couple of weeks on a bad front tire.

How do I test relay to see if it is bad? 1994 Nissan Altima turn over but not start. No lights on dash and no clock or blower for heater. Is this a fuse?

call you local auto parts store and ask if they can check you car out with a cen-tech trilangual code reader, this device will talk to the on board computer, troubleshoot and tell the auto parts person what fuse is bad and you will not waist a lot of time and money

95 NISSAN ALTIMA TURNS OVER WONT START AIR FILTER SMOKING

Its probably back-firing in the intake - which means it is firing early or the fuel mixture is very lean.
This engine uses a distributor cap and rotor, so I would start there and make sure the cylinders are firing correctly.
If the ignition checks out ok, it could be a problem with the cam timing.

Electrical fire in 94 Nissan

Not "hopeless." Find a Nissan dealer and replace the harness to engine. Had this happen to a Caddy and replaced harness to fix problem after replacement of parts that caused the fire.

94 Nissan Altima

Its a '94 so engine or tranny mounts are a strong possibility...
You would need to seek the help of a mechanic to replace them.
