SOURCE: 1998 Nissian Altima Not starting
Nothing by either party was said about the starter. The battery and wires can all be in great shape, and if they are and the owner hears a clicking noise when trying to start it its a pretty good bet they may have a starter that's locked up.
One good 'ole trick on those starters. If you can reach the starter, a couple of sharp rapes with a hammer will have it starting again, then you know it time to replace the starter.

SOURCE: brake lights will not turn off on my 94 Nissan Altima
Your problem should be that the rubber stops that are mounted at the top of your break pedal came out or are worn down too much to press the buttons all the way in.
What they do is push the button that switches off your break lights when the break pedal is released (yes, kind of backwards way to design it, i know). That's why your lights stay on even when your car is off. I had to go to the junkyard to find replacements for mine and they are a ***** to replace.
They are chipped away easily by the break switches when your car shakes badly over a prolonged period of time. Like driving a couple of weeks on a bad front tire.
I have a Nissan Altima 2002, engine 2.5. The problem is that the cars dashboard lights are not working, also the altenator is not working?
