A couple things are going wrong with my 2001 malibu gas gauge quit working, ac not blowing cold air, not hearing the chime when you put key in ignition, radio will not come on but clock does? All this happened at once and because my mechanic lost the battery terminal and rigged it up with a bolt and the car wouldn't start today so he replaced that but everything else is still not working

Sounds like it is low on the coolant which causes it to only work part of the time. You could probably take the car to a auto parts store and at least here in the midwest, they can help recharge your freon/R22 so you have a good working air conditioner. If that is properly charged and leak free, then your air conditioner compressor might be going bad, but then you would hear a lot of belt squealing when it wasn't working. Most likely though it is just low on the freon/R22.

By the way, air conditioners don't have spark plugs......LOL

Have the cooling system pressure tested ! 3.1 l engine These engines had intake gasket problems , have the radiator cap tested as well . Bad radiator cap will allow coolant lose . Does the oil cap have whitish or dirty color foam on inside ? Coolant leak into the oil .

I would and sometimes you have to hold the recharge hose down on the fitting with some pressure to get it to take the R134.

take to local mechanic to have a look ,could be your vacumn pipes are perished ,so the flaps are not moving ,does the AC compressor click in??

sounds like you have a bad ground what i would do is run a ground wire from the battery to the engin some were and see if this makes a difference.

the most probabale cause of this would be a disfunctional hear core if you replace your heater your heater will more than likley work the the way it's supposed to

sounds like you have a bad temperature sensor in dash or the cable has eitehr broken or come off the heater switch under the dash!!
