Hi this problem can only be resolved with diagnostic equipment, to determine restraints fault codes that are present. possible causes may be ABS ,air bag ,or weel speed speed sensors that are faulty. TRY and clear all intermittent fault codes in the ECU this may solve the problem.
There have been several reported problems with the airbag module on a series of GM products (including yours). Recommend having a certified mechanic look at your problem.

Under the front seats you have wires going to your seat belt anchors. These wires are atached to a sensor witch activate the air bags if the anchors have force pull on them. The wires have plugs under the seat.Disconnect the plugs and spray with electical cleaner and replace.Make sure the ignition is switched off befor you attemt doing.90%of the time this will work.good luck.

SOURCE: The service air bag light is on.
Sometimes the wiring under the passenger seat can become compromised from objects in floor becoming wedged under the seat.May need to be reconnected if possible..Usually if the air bag light remains on , it means the air bag will not engage if needed. Should have the dealer service department check for you.
