My 2007 gmc truck is making a popping sound when I turn

Sounds like your new starter might have a bendix issue. Most all national parts stores are able to test the starter. I would pull it and take it to be tested.

Does this sound like backfiring through the carb, or in the exhaust?

can be anything suspension or steering related

start inspection at the swaybar endlinks and maybe the struts go from there

if you don't want to crawl underneath, goto local tire alignment shops and some may inspect it for free as a courtesy

If the sound is present when the wheel is turning under weight, the wheel or bearing hub could be causing the sound. The easiest way to check this is to get it on a hoist (supporting the front lower control arms), start the engine, put in gear while applying the brake, gently let the wheel start turning and look for the sound. If the sound is missing, you probably have a wheel (e.g. broken weld) or tire problem.

1st check fuse for Amplifier.

2nd if fuse is good, most likely the Amp has died. Common for GMC

pop off the positive battery cable for about 3-5 mins should induce hard reset
