Probable Cause:-
Possible Causes Setting Conditions

  • TP sensor connector is damaged (check pins for damage, and for moisture)
  • TP sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to voltage
  • TP sensor ground circuit is open
  • TP sensor has failed
  • TP sensor not mounted properly to the throttle body
  • PCM has failed
Engine running; and the PCM detected the TP sensor indicated more than 4.60v (i.e., a throttle opening of 92.27%). Note: This trouble code may set due to an intermittent fault.

SOURCE: obd2 code p0300 on mazda protege 2002

Just had one of these with a maxima, the code is multiple random misfire, when a misfire occurs, to start is do the basics, replace the plugs, check fuel pressure, clean throttle body, and coolant is topped up. also I have seen if the O2 sensor is not working correctly is can cause a misfire, you will need a scan tool to look at what the O2 sensor is doing, o rby back probing the sensor (don't damage the O2 sensor wires). If it wires replace them as well, if it has coils they usually dont give that code if one fails, it will pinpoint that a certain coil if one fals.

SOURCE: code po705 mazda protege lx shaking rough start

The Code you refer to is P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input). It is a possiblility that because this code is present, this sensor is malfunctioning. If it is malfunctioning, that means the engine needs to "guess" the value that this sensor is responsible for. In most cases when this happens, the engine will go for a value that ensures the car runs. The engine will not try to run smooth or efficently, it will only try to run. It is my guess that if you have the sensor checked and replaced, the problem might be fixed. Please let me know if this answers your question and please rate my response. Thank you

P1250 and P1569 codes. Engine still running rough after complete tuneup. What should I check now. Any Mcguyver fixes? 2002 Mazda Protege5

1250 is the fuel pressure regulator and 1569 is variable timing control solenoid. Both will cause rough running. I would check the regulator out first.

What is the meaning of trouble codes 12,13 and 18 on my 2002 mazda 323 protege 1.6L ZM engine. I got these codes using a jump wire and LED light on diagnostic connector.

i dont know what codes you managed to trip but those are not proper diagnostic codes. OBDII codes will start with a letter and have four numbers (P0304, for example). these codes can be retrieved with a code reader or a scan tool.

2002 Mazda Protege timing belt replaced and

Scan PCM for codes. Check that timing is correct again. These DOHC engines are easy to install a tooth out. Start from the top of engine when installing timing belt on this type of engine it's the easiest way to do it. If you took CRANKSHAFT pulley apart make sure the pick up ring behind isn't placed in backwards.
