I agree , if it were only one area of error I would first and foremost say verify your temp with a point and shoot temp gun , but it sounds like you need new cluster , I'm sure the other Answer is also correct to re solder the components , but most just want it fixed quickly . I would also remove battery so when re installed your cpu re sets

SOURCE: odometer light out on a 01 buick century

I had this same problem and I removed the long plastic dash piece that goes from door to door (after removing other pieces which hold that one in place) and then tilt the steering wheel to the lowest position. turn the key and put the car in gear 1 then shut the car off -this enables you to remove the instrument cluster, which is held in by 4 screws. Unclip the back of the instrument cluster and remove the circuit board. On the board to the right of the speedometer are 4 resistors which look like tiny black cylinders -these need to be replaced (if they haven't already fallen off the circuit board). I was missing two and I just touched the other two with my finger and they fell off. I soldered onto the board 150 ohm, 1/8 watt resistors ($1.99 for a packof 5 at Radio Shack). This entire process took me about 30 minutes. I put everything back together in the reverse order I took it apart and my instrument cluster, odometer and gear-shift indicator works fine.

The resisters on the back of the odometer fell off. they can be re solder if you can find them. That is what happened to mine. i stumbled on video directions on youtube. just pull out you cluster. there are 4 resisters on ther right top side of the of the PC board. if there still there they will be blackend and burned. just roll your finger on them and if they fall off easy there bad. you can buy replacement resistors for like $3 and same your self a $100 to fix or worse. buying a new one. ther resistors i used were 1/2 watt 150Ohm 5% tolerance resistors. and they can be bought from any raido shack. i hope this helps.

The cluster will have to be sent out for repairs or exchange by a dealer or see Model Electronics.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 buick century and the odometer and gear

This is a very common problem. I too have this going on. I found a Edmunds Forum and a poster has a fix, at least for him. Link: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX?14@@.ef22120/307#MSG307 and see if this is your problem too. I ordered a new headlight switch. Its an easy replacement too. Remove the left side dash panel, two screws and the 20 pin connector. Hope this helps.

1999 buick century odometer light does not work

this is a common problem and the dash cluster must be removed and sent out for repair, cost is about $175 to replace the LED (Light emitting diode) display that has burned out, this is a faxtory defect as far as this expert is concerned, it is not a fuse problem.

The odometer & gear shift selector are not lighting up in my 1999 Buick Regal. Previously, it used to go on & off. But, now, it never lights up.

with all the probelms u are having it sounds like a short in ur heater and that can cause the hole dashbord to not work or in ur case just the light take it to a shop and have them run a computer on it.
