SOURCE: 2005 vw jetta radiator cooling fan wont shut off

Check for a switch at lower part of rad. Should see a wire harness & plug on a sensor at bottom of rad. This sensor/switch also operates fan on/off according to coolant temperature. You may need to disconnect battery to get at it safely.

SOURCE: How to Check fan control module 2001 vw beetle?

Sounds like your fan speed switch. I had the same problem. The fan speed switch is the main power switch to your AC. VW only sells the whole cluster wholesale around 150.00. Let me know if you need instruction on removing cluster.

SOURCE: Are lifters a common problem on chevy malibu 3100

That depends on when was the last time the car was serviced and how many miles its done since the last service.

If its a high milage car then having the valves set should clear up the misfire and the lifter tick.

Fan is not coming on in my 2001 VW Beetle. Checked fuses and all are ok. Where do I go from here?

Bad fans are common. You can either turn the AC on to see if that will trigger them, or jump the thermo switch at the bottom of the radiator.

There is also a fan control module located in the area under the battery, but diagnosing this is difficult.

Test radiator cooling fans

Hello,

they should come on at app. 90 deg. celsius (190 F) .

It is a common problem with the beetle, the cause is a malfunction in the cooling control module.

The module is surveilled by the on board diagnosis system, so you should bring the car to the shop and let them run some tests with the diagnosis computer.

No heater or A/C blower

Did you check fuses located on battery?
Possible causes , fan itself , but it would have nothing to do with overheating.
Fan resistor (final stage controller) , not for overheating either.
And the most common on this cars is radiator fan control module , basicly a few relays in one.
You can check fuses by yourself but for the rest of it probably mechanic shop is preferable.

99 vw passat over heating

Check radiator fluid, make sure the engine fan engages, if both of these are fine, make sure your engine is not running too lean, as it will cause additional unnecessary heat.

99 VW Beetle blows warm air when you start air conditioner

your condensor fins could be blocked by leaves or other debris on the outside. this component is located right behind the radiator. there could also be an overcharge or under charge in the system. make sure that when you charged the system that you used a good set of gauges to check the system pressures. Also check and make sure that there is not a blockage somewhere in the lines, Usually if there is there is a fine layer of ice surrounding it.
