Whyare the inside dome lights not going off on my 2007 jeep liberty?

That is a whole lot of issues that needs an auto electrician and a pro grade scan tool computer. We have a pro electrician here @Jeff Armer and hopefully he will chime in. Sounds like a communication issue with BCM and ECM which I think is combined into a TIPM.

Sounds like a direct short to ground. Isolate the components and look for something that may have rubbed through the wiring. Also have you installed anything new in your Jeep, if so double. Check those things.

that's programmable on all cars.
old cars, a lever on Dome lamp or others on the HL stalk a mode.
HL = head lamps
my new car no light levers.
IT has a party mode, cute how now that old feature for 100 years
gets a name. PARTY, as all doors open for tail gate party and no light drain on battery. (death) my 08 JK has that.(wrangler)

all this is in the operators manual. in the glove box.

Disconnect your battery and it will reset your interior light relay. I had the same problem with my Jeep Liberty

Try starting in neutral. Gear sensor may be heating up and not registering park.

there is a fuse for the panel lights i would start there

Check or replace the relay. Just very possible.

Charge the battery and have it load tested...It may have just given up...check the charging system and also, perhaps did you leave something on in the car? (dome light, glove box light etc)
