Starting My 99 dodge intrepid 3.2L engine, has been having trouble starting. Like i will have to turn it a couple times then it will start, but thats only if its been sitting for awhile. If i start it, cut it off an start it back up it will start right up, but if it been sitting awhile then it wont. That has been going on about two week now, NOW it wont start at all, it just makes a loud clicking noise. All the lights work, i tried jumping it so its not the battery.Im thinking it may be the solenoid or the starter, but could also be the relay. What do you think?

CAR WILL NOT START HAS NEW STARTER NEW BATTERY EVERY THING WORKS NEW OIL CHANGE BUT WILL NOT START DODGE INTREPID 2000 2.7 ENGINE

First of all before you spend a lot of money with computer mechanic or personal machanics
try a little trouble shooting yourself. My sons neon would not start it started out as beinging a intermittent problem 1. It had a very old battery we replaced it seemed like this sovled the problem it started and ran for a couple of weeks, then same problem. This seemed like it may be a wiring or inition problem, jumped from the + batt. to the starter relay coil w/ key turned on it started every time was thinking it was the inition. Tried one more thing switched A/C relay w/starting relay in engine compartment fuse box. wa la no money for the greedy mechanic.

I have a 99 dodge intrepid and it runs rough and stalls out. how do you find out the codes for what is wrong with it?

On my 98' Intrepid I turn the key to "ON position" Three times.( on-off-on-off-on-off-on). Don't start it. It will show the trouble codes in the odometer space. To reset the codes just undo the Neg. battery cable for 30 mins..

2002 Intrepid wont start

if you have disconected the battery for more than 15min then see if you have a reset on your fuel pump it would have run with the fuel already in the line

Engine dies out and wont start 99 dodge stratus

It may be an ignition module but these things are expensive and without a trouble code detected you may be in for a long expesive ride.

99 intrepid hard to start and or cutts out, what is my solution

n most 90's and up Dodge/Chrysler vehicles, you can try to pull codes from the car's computer as long as you still have a charged battery. Put your key in the ignition, and turn it forward, but not far enough to engage the starter. Turn the key back to the Off position, then forward, back and forward again. In early 90s vehicles, the Check Engine light is going to flash a number of times. Often, code 55 means it is completed.
In mid and late 90s vehicles, you will often get a 4 digit code that may help you diagnose problems starting, mostly checking the eletrical, ignition and sensor systems.

1999 Dodge Intrepid Dies while driving and sometimes won't start

I could very well be the TPS throttle position sensor acting up. I had a very similar situation on a 99 Concorde with the same engine in it in my shop today. Go to a shop that is able to do a data stream on the engine. What it is, is they hook up a scanner and have the ability to watch all the sensors as the car starts/runs.
