How do you test a 1994 Suzuki Sidekick fuel pump & where is the gas filter located?

It turns over and if I pump the gas pedal it tries to fire but won't keep running. Plenty of gas in the tank.

With key at off position-turn to on without start about 3 or 4 times-fuel pump should gather enough prressure for a start--and this indicates a worn pump or pressure regulator--filter is part of fuel tank assembly----may need to do this again til u git to mechanic

Have you checked your fuses? It sounds like an ignition control module possibly. Start with the easy stuff before ya get crazy with the fuel pump. You can pull the fuel line off the throttle body and have someone try to start it to see if it's pumping. It's pressurised though and it will push a ton of gas through it really quick so be careful.

Not firing

How is your fuel pressure after the fuel pump replacement? (requires adapters and a gauge.) You also can use "test fuel" (like starting fluid) to help determine if the problem is fuel or ignition. Just be careful as the stuff is explosive. For more in depth trouble shooting you might want to visit a Suzuki forum. (Your Tracker is a rebadged Suzuki Sidekick.)

My 1994 sidekick cutoff on me and would no start. There is electrical power. I noticed before my gas gauge was moving up and down and not staying at one place. Please help. Thanks

check fuel pressure ? most likely its your fuel pump and fuel gauge is part of the pump assembly that explains your jumping gauge.

Lack of fuel to engine

it could be the fuel filter or fuel pump. get both of those checked and also get the fuel pressure regulator checked

Diagnostic jump test wrong terminals - now Suzuki won,t start

Thanks for your reply. It turned out that the fuel pump quit at the same time as the diagnostic test so I'm back on track now. Should be running by tomorrow. Thanks again.
