Dues box ? do you mean fuse box . There are fuses for the power windows in the under hood fuse / relay box ! F1.62 30amp fuse an there is a relay in the CJB - central junction block ,located under the driver side dash panel . Accessory delay relay , first one top left in the fuse box. That's a good place to start ! what if fuse an relay are good ? then what ? do you know how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do any of your windows work ? The best place to start is the drivers door window switch ! All power to all windows come through that switch .The lite blue with black stripe wire is power wire at the switch !

SOURCE: 2005 Mercury Mountaineer rear end whine, how hard to fix

Before you do this you might want to try fresh gear lube. On Ford products they use a synthetic additive in the rear and not in the front 4x4 axle.
The next thing would be to determine if it is a wheel bearing or a pinion bearing. You have to pull the axles and eliminate them as the problem. You might get lucky and not need to do the pinion.
The technical part of shimming the pinion gears with replacing the pinion bearing is about the worst part of the job. You won't know about the gears until you see them. You will need extra shims on hand.
It is a moderate job for two people. If you have all the parts it can be done in a day.

2005 mercury mountaineer power window will ot let down, radion will not play and fuel gauge not working. This all went out the same time what is this?

Initially look at the fuses. The windows will have their own fuse and the radio may work on the same fuse as the gauges. The fuses must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown ones. A small pair of pliers will ease removal of the fuses.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer..gas gauge including miles to empty digital failed at the same time the radio and power windows did. Other guges and digital notifications work. fuses are good. Any ideas?

You have to have a professional scan tool put on
most vehicles today, to look at the systems data

If I had your truck I would start there

Then I could do nothing without wirng diagrams,
just to see the systems it has & give me a guide
to start some testing

Radio windows and fuel read out stopped working

Check Fuse 2.3 (20 Amp). See electrical diagram below.

When it goes, it'll take out the audio and "Cluster and Panel Illumination."
(assuming your vehicle doesn't have an OEM Nav system - in which case fuse 2.3 would
supply power to the Nav system).

Fuse 2.3 is located in the CJB (Central Junction Box) - not the BJB (Battery Junction Box),
nor the AJB (Auxiliary Junction Box).

Also, check fuses F1.6 (60 Amp), and fuse F1.62 (30 Amp) in BJB (Battery Junction Box).
Also, check fuse F2.17 (15 Amp) and the "Accessory Delay Relay," both in the CJB (Central
Junction Box).

Here's the electrical diagram for 2005 Mercury Mountaineer Power Windows:
Note how fuses F1.6, F1.62, F2.17, and 'Accessory Delay Relay" will all
disable the power windows.

The power distribution box is
located in the engine compartment.
The power distribution box contains
high-current fuses that protect your
vehicle’s main electrical systems
from overloads.
The starter relay is in position #56 of that box.
