You meant no spark from distributor.? if its TO that means the ignition coil is dead. (or pcm not seeing cmp/ckp sensor signals)
PCM is the Engine injection and spark creating system EFI.
power train control module it is.
which engine of the 4?
try the correct order. this time...... and checks.... and win....
battery charged, fully to 12.6vdc rested
did you do the 60,000 mile tune up yet? if not why not?

  1. it must crank fast. if not fix that first.
  2. the spark plugs all 4 must spark, not just one.
  3. the CEL lamp must turn on key on or fuses are blown.
  4. connect scan tool,
  5. crank for 5 seconds, release key , do not turn off key yet.
  6. behold, scan tool shows why there is no spark or shows cmp/ckp ok but spark is bad (primary side) , end riddle. now.
  7. ok 6 passes muster, so is engine compression over 150psi on all 4 cylinders. sure. next
  8. we check spark at all spark plugs and use new spark plugs, and see one is oil soaked, or green antifreezes soaked or black or very odd locking tips (this is called gathering evidence, never to be skipped
  9. did you replace the timing belt if in fact you have one, CAM at the 60k service point (if not it slips and compression will be like 1/2 the normal 150psi + compression.
  10. did you do the tuneup
  11. ok all above is ok, and i do test fuel test, it runs for 3 seconds, and sounds real good, that 3 seconds, and repeats as i repeat
  12. ok that means you lost fueling or its flooding per #8 check.
  13. ill stop at fueling,,, you need a fuel pressure gauge next..
  14. btw, wide open cranking clears floods.

what engine, what distributor, there is no distributor. only coil packs, 1 or 1 per cylinder, on DIS fired engines. did you just remove spark wires from a coil pack, and not it's timed wrong? here are all engines, (not the diesel) 1.4 L E-TEC I4 (petrol) 1.6 L E-TEC I4 (petrol) 1.8 L Family II I4 (petrol) 2.0 L Family II I4 (petrol) 2.0 L RA 420 I4 (diesel)

the spark setups vary by engine, type, so all anwers can not not be exact until you post that fact, what engine. on the belted cam, engine, did you service it , at the correct milage?l the USA engine (are you USA) has The US model line features the 2.0 L four-cylinder D-TEC made by General Motors

if the belt slips. this kills cam timing and spark timing, so.... got a 2.0L D-tec?

GM calls it the L34, i think. Daewoo U20SED , the usa version runs a single coil pack , called wasted spark with 2 coil buried deep inside. and the HV wires must not be mixed up.

his compression will be flat lined, we do hand turned, cylinder leak down tests on all DOHC engines, so as not to bend valves more.

Truck won't start acting like it has no gas, put new filter on, new coil, and new distributer and poures gas carb and still won't start any ideas? It's an 87 dodge d150

If you know for sure you getting fuel, then go to the spark plugs. I assume you have already checked for spark. So the plugs are probably gas fouled. replace then.

What are the symptoms of a starter going bad in a 2001 hyundai sonata

If your engine turns over, its not your starter, so im not going to include the location for now. If it turns over, but don't start up, then its either an igniton or fuel problem. First thing I would do is have the fuel pressure checked. If the pressure is ok, then move on to the igniton system. If you don't want to have the pressure checked, or if the pressure tests low, you will have to spend the money and buy a new fuel filter, and/or fuel pump relay, and/or fuel pump. Igniton system consists of the coil, ignition module, sparkplugs, plug wires, distrubter cap and rotor button (if your car has one, as some may not).

If he installed a new or remanufatured starter, I would suspect a weak battery possibly. If he installed a used starter, I would say the starter is bad. A hot engine is harder to crank than a cold engine and if the starter is marginal it will act the way you described. Try boosting your vehicle the next time it's hot, or get your battery load tested by a reputable shop that doesn't sell batteries. I have had experience with remanufactured starters that were no better than the unit I removed from the vehicle. Have him get a second reman and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

Need to check if you have fuel pressure and spark, then you can go from there, don't just throw parts at it.
Spray brake cleaner in the intake to see if it starts, if it does start then this eliminates the spark, if it doesn't then check for spark, get back to me and let me know

Car wont start

when you changed you valve cover gasket did you torque it to specs? also did you use some type of sealant around the holes where the plugs go through as well as each corner and complete left side where the semicircle cutout is? pull all of your plugs and see if they are oil fouled this would prevent a spark and you engine wouldn't start if it's bad enough.
