Find leak soon, low coolant will kill a diesel. Keep coolant level correct. Inspect very carefully with a bright flashlight. I like the new Led lights. Look for wet areas radiator hoses, heater hoses water (coolant) pump and Heater coil inside. Do you have any bubbling in the coolant fill tank when engine is running? If so you probably have a Head Gasket failure.

Motor oil went up a lot in the crankcase

Assume you mean the engine oil level on the dipstick is getting higher?

I would be surprised if it is hydraulic oil (unless you know different) but I suppose diesel fuel is a possibility though it is many years since I have heard of such a thing, especially if the engine is otherwise running smoothly.
The last time I saw that was on a small diesel engine with a conventional dpa type injection pump driven by oil-fed gears. The pump had sprung a leak and begun to fill the engine. There was no mistaking the strong smell of diesel...

An internal coolant leak can have the same effect but without the smell of fuel.

is this engine a direct injection or indirect ,sorry to ask but iam in europe and never seen this engine ,if its a direct injection then it cannot leak but if its indirect then yes you could see a leak but it would go into the engine as well ,because the the injector and the heater are in a side chamber in the actual cylinder head ,its called a ricardo comet type cylinder head layout but is only used on smaller lightweight diesels .

2004 Ford F-250 6.0 liter diesel loosing coolant

i'm getting "internal control module keep alive memory?" for fault p0603. which i think has nothing to do with using coolant. i assume you're finding no leaks, so it's leaking somewhere you can't see. does it smell of antifreeze in the interior? is the carpet wet? the heater core might be leaking into the interior. there could be a slow leak on the top of the engine and it's boiling away before it has a chance to pool. fill your reservoir fully. let the engine get hot. inspect for steam in the engine compartment.

2001 dodge 3/4 diesel truck my heater does not

Hey,
I'll assume for now that the blower motor is working.
Now, there are a couple of things things to check.
1. Easiest thing to check is the coolant level. If the coolant is low, your heater will not give any warm air. Hopefully this is the problem as it's the easiest fix.
2. The thermostat. When the engine and coolant are hot, your top rad hose should be hot as well. See if the rad hose is hot to the touch. If it isn't, your thermostat might be faulty. It's a fairly easy and cheap fix as well.
Good luck.

Running fine, then blew lots of white smoke that smelled like diesel, cut off and won't start again. Dee

If this is a gas engine You have probably blown a head gasket. If its a diesel engine of later years 03 or later you probably have an injector failure and or a injector pump failure. I hope this helps.
Thank You,
Roy
