google finds this in 1 second flat.
when car was new, with coded radio head end.
it has card in the glove box ,says dont lose this card and code
and put in a safe place it states.
the users guide (lost too) says to replace the battery the car
ask the radio its code first (or OOPS its locked out)(shows how it does)

You need the theft code. You can buy it from the dealer or you can get it here for less. www.radio-codes.com

That is probably the anti theft feature that kicks in when the radio looses power completely.

You will need to find the reset code that came with the paperwork when you purchased the vehicle. If not you will have to take it to the Kia Dealer for a reset.

The radio anti-theft has locked itself out. You need to go to your local agent with ID and they will check your radio serial number and be able to give you the correct unlock code. (Make a note of this for future ocassions).

Look around for a small label with a 5 digit number on it. Look inside the glove box and console. You will need the 5 digit code to unlock the radio. To get the code you will need the serial # of the radio. In order to get the serial # it is necessary that you remove the radio from the dash or at least remove enough of the dash so you can see the serial #. The serial # is located on top of the radio chassis. Numbers that start with M1C, M3G, M46, & YEFM are not the serial #. Look for another number on the chassis. Now with the serial # and the VIN number off the car go to the Honda Owners Link and register your Honda. I have a 2001 focus ..radio suddenly stopped playing after being at garage.  I thought that the battery was disconnected and the radio neede reset code, as it has a rad blinking dash anti-theft light.  i went to ford garage and they told me they don't have reset codes on the focus.  Is this true?
