When is last time you checked fuel filter? Do your hear a buzzing and then it stops after a few seconds with the key in on position? If yes check for fuel pressure at line.
Otherwise check for spark. If no spark check fuses first. Then check relay for ignition system and ignition coil.
So need to find out if you have a spark or a fuel problem. do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key. checking for spark is a matter of pulling a boot of 1 of the spark plugs and use an old spark plug and lay it on the engine so you don't get shocked when you have someone try turning the key. if you see spark over and over. I would suspect the fuel being the issue or something broke. did it run fine when you turned it off last.

REPLACE THE FUSES THEN DISCONNECT THE FACTORY ALARM AND RE-ACTIVATE IT. IF ANYTHING TRY IT WITH ANOTHER BATTERY FIRST.

When you changed the joint, I'm assuming you had the shaft out. A common problem occurs when you put the shaft back in, it doesn't fully seat in the transaxle and then the differential is only connected to one wheel so it can't transmit power. You will have to disconnect the lower ball joint again, move the lower control arm down a bit, so that you can push the axle into the splines of the transmission.

If the shif position sensor does is out of adjustment, the car will not start. You will turn the key and the car will not even turn over - which sounds like what you are describing here.
