Re: does a distributor from a 1993 geo storm gsi 1.8 fit...
Most probably not, the GSi has a different head. Base has a 12 valve, GSi has a 16V. Check for part numbers. Do you need just the cap or the entire distributor?

vacuum can be different in Canada than USA and in California.

no country stated, in USA?, then use mitchells.
EGR and evap are diffr.
great question. but confuses <STORM (an ISUZU) with METRO, Swift.
ill assume the STORM is correct and the 1.8l too.

wiki facts.
The larger 1.8 L 4XF1DOHC replaced the 4XE1 in North America and produces 140 hp (104 kW) and 125 ft/lb (169 Nm) of torque. This engine was used in the 1992-1993 Geo Storm GSi, in the 1992 Isuzu Stylus RS, and in the Asuna Sunfire. In Japan it was installed in the Isuzu Piazza, where it had 150 PS (110 kW).
very good question. you cant. (not easy) what that means is , on geos. is you buy a used, or rebuilt ECU with the same part number as your car, and it will be programmed right. the equipment of the dealer to do this is now all gone and relics. The Tech1 scanner and FLASHers are rare as hens teeth today. and even more air, the binary files to do the flash. (find a match) the ecu, must match ,year, transmission, calif. or fed. and engine options. there may be some storm pros that know how to Rom swap it (A > B) the ROM, but is very complex topic. based on the type and year of base ECU you are running. see all the bad news here. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_problem_with_a_Geo_Storm_when_it_tries_to_stall_when_idling_at_a_red_light_andor_when_the_same_car_wants_to_stall_when_you_try_to_back_it_up_in_the_parking_lot
the fuel filter is direclty below the brake booster mounted on the left side fender when your facing the car from front but be careful as to not twist and break the metal hoses on the fittings on the filter
There is no way they would leave you stuck with the engine!! However, the odds are that it should fit. First check the flywheel or flex plate. [Not sure if its a auto or manual.] If they bolt on, your are into installing the engine! Good Luck with it! Frankster016
