From my 1985/1986 official shop manual:
figure 6A1-39 valve stem and guide clearance
max intake clearance 0.08 mm (0.0031 in)
max exhaust clearance 0.10 mm (0.0039 in)
pg 6A1-17 If clearance is greater than the values given in 6A1-39, then replace the valve and guide

pg 6A1-17
standard overall length
intake 106.88 mm (4.2079 in)
exhaust 106/78 mm (4.2039 in)
do not grind more than 0.5 mm (0.020 in)

SOURCE: Do the valves need periodic adjustments in a 1999

unless they are getting noisy, as in "ticking", then adjustment is not required on hydraulic lifters. Worn rocker arms, pushrods etc. all come into play, if necessary, and should be inspected and replaced as necessary. Adjustment can be made if all parts appear good.

SOURCE: i need the engine valve spec for a 1984 chevy 6.2

VALVE ADJUSTMENTS All gasoline and diesel engines in this guide use hydraulic valve lifters, which require no periodic maintenance or adjustment. However, in the event of cylinder head removal or any operation that requires disturbing or removing the rocker arms, the rocker arms must be adjusted in order to position the pushrods to allow the hydraulic lifters to maintain zero lash. Refer to the valve lash adjustment procedure under Rocker Arms, earlier in this Section.

Testimonial: "Thanks for this response. After removing the valve cover, they are hydraulic lifters. We called 2 leading parts stores and they did not know that."

Where does the 5/8 heater hose hook up to on a 1972 nova and is it the pressure hose

They are both "pressure" hoses since the pump pushes the coolant through the system when the valve is opened. They will both go on to the heater core. One to the top, the other (return line) to the bottom. The upper one may have a control valve in line with it before it enters the core. The valve is operated by the heater controls and opens/closes to give you heat.

Want to locate my timing belt or chain on my 86 chevy nova

It would be a pain to replace the belt on this engine yourself. It's behind the timing belt cover which is blocked by a few other components that need to be removed. Think about replacing the water pump if you haven't done this already, since you're down in that area.

75 chevy Nova leaking oil and radiator fluid

Hi,
Without seeing first hand, it's difficult to nail down the problem for a solution... but based on your description I would make it a first and foremost priority to resolve the oil leak. As you know, oil reduces friction in an engine. It is vital for the life of it. No oil = friction, overheating, and worse, damage to the engine.
The clattering could be because you are losing oil enough that there isn't sufficient lubrication for the engine, especially when reving up the rpms.
Fix this... Hope this helps... Good luck!

Water coming out of stem valve on top of intake on 86 corvette

If it was water that came from the valve, and If you can identify the stem valve as a valve on the fuel injection rail or line, then yes , you have water in your gas, and no, it is not normal for water to come out of this valve. If the valve is , in fact, connected to the fuel injection system, it is likely the test valve where a pressure gage is hook up to test the pressure of the fuel going into the fuel injection.
Depending on just how much water is in the system, try several treatments of dry gas, or you just may have to have the fuel tank drained.
Good Luck!

Blue smoke comes from tailpipe

A lower octane gas woudn't cause it to blow blue smoke, more like it needs an engine job. There is oil getting into the combustion chamber, could be valve guides, valve seats, piston rings worn.

Horn wont work

Unplug the wire to the horn and make sure you have the horn grounded really good. Take a hot wire and run it from the battery to the horn. touch the hot wire to the end of the horn and see if it works. If it does not work then you need to replace the horn. If the horn works then take a test light and hook it up to the horn wire and have someone push the horn down. you should have a hot wire. If you don't them check the horn fuse. Let me know if this works.
