How do I remove the back seat in my 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

Did you check fuses and relays first? Diagnose first, then repair. A new motor comes after you connect 12 volts to the old one and see if it works.

threre are 2. front and rear banks
bank 1 between starter and A/C compressor
bank 2 between transaxle and rh engine (firewall
drain coolant
unhook and remove sensor

If you pull back on the corners of the seat, you will find the bolts that hold it into place. Remove them to remove the seat. The bottom part kinda snaps in, so if you pull up really hard on the rear of the bottom seat, (where everyone loses their change) it should pop right up.

To remove the rear seat you will need to push down and back and then pull up, this needs to be done on each side of the seat to remove it and reverse to install the seat, good luck hope this is helpful.

1996 monte carlo has struts in the rear

Most cars that do not have bolts are hook at the front end of the seat. You need push down really hard on the front end of the seat and pull the seat forward and up. This will unhook the latch. Good Luck

just rotate the belt in a clock wise direction

The fuse box is located on the passenger side panel of the dash . you have to open the passanger door to get at it.

The other fuse boxes are under the hood, on each side under a diagonal support arm that has to be removed to get at the fuses & relays

Intake manifold sounds like needs removed and replaced.. sounds like it has blown a gasket at rear .. try a mirror first and see if you can see exactly where it is coming from before taking it appart.. this sometimes helps so you can see back there.. thanks jerry
