P0300 code truck has 105,000 miles. during cold start engine runs good. after warm up during highway speeds ,2500 rpm or higher misfiring occurs and after two driving start stops mil sets. connected scan tool to vehicle and checked misfire history cylinder 1,5,6,8 show misfires. cylinder 1 and 6 are the highest count. replaced plugs, coil packs, wires, and reconditioned injectors. fogged manifold with propane to determine if gasket was leaking. no apparent rpm increase during test. listened to injectors all are firing consistently. all coil packs are firing verified with inline light. checked fuel pressure with gauge 48 psi key on,60 psi engine running. oxygen sensors look reasonable on both manifold. oscillating voltage on front side of cat and steady on outlet. fuel long term trims b1 and b2 running about 9 % . short term about 0 to 2%. ratio 14.6:1. I'm stumped . could it be weak fuel pump or crank position sensor? engine runs fine after code clear and then acts up during driving highway speeds 68mph or higher 2500rpm

Check that the ht leads are separated by lead bridges. If the ht leads are not of high quality then touching leads allows for an induced current which fires across a plug where the compression is low. High compression as in firing stroke needs an increase in voltage to jump and if the pressure is less in another cylinder then the spark will go to there.

Testimonial: "thanks for your response. I'll take another look at the clearance. The 05 has individual coil packs with about 4-5 inches of separation."

ok so it will not be the HT leads. sandi rossi has a very good point as the cylinders misfiring or opposite banks at the front and back. When fitting a inlet manifold these are the areas that are most susceptible to fitting or gasket failure. Run with that suggestion and take extra care to tension the manifold bolts in the correct order and to the correct tension

P0300 code keeps flagging. misfire occurs during acceleration to letting off of accelerator pedal at 2500 rpm or higher.

Could be a bad ignition control module or a compression issue as well. A methodical diagnosis needs to be performed so you don't keep chasing your tail and spending tons of time and money on this issue. Looking up a factory manual that covers your specific vehicle and testing operation of all suspect systems would be my next move. Misfire under load isyour symptom, the cause can be mechanical or electrical.

My 2004 mazda b 2300 (105,000 miles) "bucks" when i shift up (usually at about 2000 rpm or less)

The engine may misfire and/or buck while driving at freeway speeds with no fault code stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This can be caused by an intermittent fault with the camshaft synchronizer assembly. This condition can be diagnosed by monitoring knock sensor data as per Ford service bulletin #05-22-12. Replacement of the synchronizer assembly will be required to correct this concern.

Rough idle jetta 2001 1.8t when it's cold codes p0300 and p0302

p 0300 is random misfires and 0302 is no 2 cylinder misfire
most misfires are from dirty injectors rather than plugs
run a quality injector cleaner and see if there is improvement

1999 Ford Contour engine light is on. Engine light came on for second time today. Reset this a few months ago and it seemed to be fine until today. The car seems to run fine at this time. Both times...

A possible culprit could be your O2 sensor (Oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifod or piping). These are usually good for about 80K to 100K miles. When they fail or start to deviate too far from their baseline readings they can cause the check engine light to come on. Driving on the highway at higher speeds would result in higher exhaust temperatures than typically are encountered during in- town driving so this could explain why it only occurs on at higher speeds (which equal higher engine loads of course). You could buy an engine code checker or take it to a shop and have them read the error codes for you to narrow it down and/or confirm my O2 sensor idea.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why. it could be any of the following A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer
  • also
  • Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

First start by making sure that the spark plugs are AC Delco plugs or other WILL trigger a P0300. If these are good, the next thing to check is the coolant temperature sensor(ECT). If this is problematic, it will cause too much fuel to be delivered and misfires to occur on all cylinders.
