I have an Audi A5 2.0l tfsi 2010. This morning my car started shaking violently, the engine management light came on and an error on the screen reading start stop system fault. any ideas??

The start stop error and shaking has happened before but stopped after a day. also the car is drinking 1L of oil every 500 miles no sins of any leakage

If it has coil packs Ive seen where if one bank goes out "was a V6 an each coil pack did two cylinders. There where 3 packs" then the motor shook all crazy and had no power. Checked it by pulling the spark plug off and restarting to see if it ran different. Hopefully its something simple like that.

IF THESE SHAKES ARE HAPPENING ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS AT COLD START THEN U MIGHT HAVE A MINOR VALVE PROBLEM.THE VALVE HEADS DUE TO NO LUBRICATION FROM THE FUEL THEY TEND TO GET DIRTY AND NOT SIT AT THE CYLINDER HEAD AS THEY SHOULD.REMEDY IS FIRST A GOOD TEST DRIVE AND BY GOOD I MEAN REVS OVER 4000 AT LEAST.IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS UMIGHT HAVE TO DISASSEMBLE THE CYLINDER HEAD AND CLEAN THE VALVES MANUALLY.

That is the throttle control. It is an electronic part that changes position when you step on the gas pedal. Replace it.
