There may be a fuse for the ignition system, but not specificly the Starter itself. Do you hear a "click" when you turn the key? If not
are you sure you have a good battery? Do other electric devices work? If you hear a click when turning to start and a good battery, You have starter solenoid problems. Is this a diesel? Could be the Starter motor Brushes. While somewhat hazardous, can you jump the car and get it started? Autoparts stores will help check battery and other electrical problems if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise you need dealer or reputable repair shop. If diesel engine (and fuel) I'd go to the dealer.

2009 jeep commandeer wont start, when I turn the key there is no sound, lights wont turn on and is that wasn't enough the key gets stuck in the ignition. any ideas?

it wont crank, no A/t car starts unless cranked first. (a key point)

fix head lights first. this is a feature in all cars.

that is SIMPLE and HOT all the time

they must work at all times and is the top way to diagnose

electric problems

you have a dead battery,.

only why remains.

i bet it cranks jumper cable started, call AAA or buy some cables.

or swap in a charged battery , or heck charge yours, buy a charger.

check fuses.

check battery lugs for green death?

check battery voltage. at 12.6vdc, if not charge the battery

if the battery continues to disgharge.

that is called phantom drains, or bad battery .

or the alternators is bad.(system)

once started the battery volts must be 13.3.to 15v, if not the charge system is bad ,(fuses, belts slipping and lots more possibles)

Why wont the key engage the startermoter every time it is turned on?

Bad wiring or worn solenoid. Check wiring with an amp clamp when turning over. Replace starter if worn out. Ground connections are important.

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

92 plymouth voyager wont start and nothing work the windows wont go down the lock and unlock button does nothing idk what the problem is i had the battery tested and the battery is fine what would cause...

Nothing works? How about the headlights, do they work? If yes, then start checking all fuses in the Power Distribution Center or Box under the hood. If no, then look for a bad maxi-fuse in the PDC, and check for a bad fusible link between the battery and the PDC. The battery positive cable goes to the starter, but a pigtail lead off the positive would go to the PDC, to distribute power to all the various circuits on the car.
When you turn the key to on, does the dash light up? If yes, at least power is getting to, and going through the ignition switch. One could then check for power on the starter solenoid wire when key was held in crank or start position.
If nothing when turning key to on-no dash lights, nothing-then check for an ignition fuse in the PDC. If fuse is good check for power being available at the ignition switch connector. If no power there, check wiring between PDC and the ignition switch-if power is up to the switch, but nothing happens with key on, no dash or warning lights, then could have a bad ignition switch.
It just sounds like a maxi-fuse has blown, or a bad fusible link. Good luck.

Ignition problems

Check all your fuses..The one for your ignition, which is designated for your starter maybe blown.. But if your fuses or good, you can check an see if you have power to the starter...( test light ) or Probe light.. An when the key is turned and the light lights up, an the car does not start, then you need a starter..

2001 pontiac sunfire wont start

I have had the exact same problem. There is an ignition lock that probably went off. There is a fuse box under the hood. The fuse that says ignition on it pull it out and put it back in. This should reset the ignition lock. Its a safety feature because the car thinks that someone was trying to tamper with it.
