The wiper motor is located under the plastic air intake at the base of the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is not too hard to get at and you will need to remove at least the lh wiper arm. It is very possible it is a linkage problem and not the motor (the arms pop off their sockets sometimes on these cars) Take the plastic cover off and you will see the arms and be able to tell if they are disconnected or not.

SOURCE: Can I take a super charger out of a Grand Prix GTP

Well, the short answer is "yes". But - it isn't nearly as simple as just bolting the supercharger onto the intake and VOILA!, now you're supercharged. The procedure that you're inquiring about is commonly referred to as a "top swap", and there are numerous parts you will need for both engine as well as the transmission. Why the transmission? Because the GT and GTP use different gear ratios and the GTP has a 4T65HD as opposed to the 4T65E that is in the SE/GT. You will also need to have the PCM reprogrammed to accomodate all of these changes.

HERE is a great website that has a ton of very useful information, regarding this and many other Grand Prix topics.

Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa!

SOURCE: 1998 Grand Prix GTP windshield washer (full) not pumping fluid

Not difficult to remove inner fender liner (screws around wheel well opening and sometimes a few more)
Pump is available from most auto supply stores and easily installed in tank. Check power at the motor before removing it to make sure the motor is bad and the problem isn't somewhere else.(if no power there problem can be solved as easily as using a push button to get it powered up and as complicated as replacing the multi-function switch...pretty much your choice)

My 1998 Pontiac grand prix GTP supercharged 3.8 coupe will die and cannot restart for 5-30 minutes. When engine is hot or not. Vacuum problem?

VACUUM PROBLEMS USUALLY CAUSE IDLE PROBLEMS NOT A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN. SOUNDS MORE LIKE A FUEL PUMP RELAY.

Transmission Compatibility

As you see I provided you the models you can apply the transmission :The 4T65E-HD (code MN7) is a heavy duty version of the 4T65-E used with more powerful engines such as the LS4 V8 and L67/L32 supercharged V6. Applications: 2.93:1 MN7 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi L67 Chevrolet Impala L67 Chevrolet Monte Carlo L67 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP/GXP Buick Regal GS Buick Riviera L67 (97-99) So ,yes you can!

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8 supercharge, Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E rebuilt 2 years ago. Drove to work (26 miles) and all was fine, got in to leave and put gear selector in drive or 1st and nothing...

Your transmission for the GTP should be the 4T65-HD. If in fact it is not then that could very well be the problem. The 4T65-E is for the other 3.8L naturally aspirated models.

What kind of motor does a Pontiac Grand Prix have?

Depends on what sub-model you have. If you have an SE its a 3100 3.1L Engine. If its a GT its a 3800 3.8L Engine. If its a GTP its a 3800 3.8L but with a supercharger.

What engines will fit a 1998 grand prix

You will only be able to fit a 3800 engine in this car. If you would really want to swap a different motor a 3800 superchanged L67 engine will fit but you will need a heavy duty tranny from the 3800 motor and you will also need a wireharness injectors and harness and also a PCM. You can find these motors for a pretty cheap price on moradparts from ebay. They also have their own website. Very very good place to buy used W body GM parts

98 grand prix gtp tranny

The tranny is called a 4T65E-HD(heavy duty). The rebuild kits are the same for both supercharged and non-supercharged cars. The occasional harshness is caused by the EPC solenoid hanging up from wear. I recommend installing a Superior Shift Correction kit, 4th clutch hub (the splines strip), EPC, and TCC/PWM solenoid.

This combo works great!
