It is mounted right next to the Brake Pedal. All you have to do is locate the switch that is activated by depressing the pedal about half way up the Pedal arm. After locating the switch follow the wires to the plug in the wiring harness and disconnect the wires. Then unbolt or unclip the switch and replace in opposite order.

U mean the shifter does not go in to drive? If that is so then replace the brake light switch on the brake paddle. Shifter is powered through the brake light switch.

It coould be the brake light switch, the wiring or the bulb failure relay under the dash. You will need a test light and a wiring diagram to find the problem. If you can get someone knowledgable about cars to help you, I can send you a wiring diagram.

My 93 240 Volvo brake lights won't work. Bulbs and fuses are good and about a year ago they replaced the whole brake light assembly

COULD BE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH BAD.CHECK TO SEE IF POWER GOING TO SWITCH IF NO YOU HAVE A SHORT OR LOOSE WIRE FROM FUSE WIRE TO THE SWITCH.

put something on the peddle to engage the breaks and try wiggling the wire connectors at the break light.
