SOURCE: Where is the transmission fluid drain plug for a 2000 Cougar

Your Ford has no drain plug, to change/drain the trans fluid u must remove the transmission pan, u may be able to lower fluid level with a fluid siphon pump (rated for oil) through the dipstick tube, harbor freight tools sells a pump for this purpose.

SOURCE: How do I check the clutch fluid to a 1999 Mercury Cougar 4cyl

The brake master cylinder reservoir has a separate chamber and is used to supply the hydraulic clutch system. So make sure master cylinder reservoir is full.

SOURCE: How do you add transmission fluid?

If this is for a 2002 and up explorer with the 4.6, there isn't a dipstick. It is a complicated deal. The vehicle has to be running much like the old ones, but a plug must be removed from the pan. Behind the plug is a upwards tube that you, believe it or not, squirt oil up into until it runs generously back at you. then it is full.

Crazy huh?

The fill is the dipstick tube. Make sure the transmission fluid is at the right spot. If it is low add some fluid. And check to see if there is any leaks from the transmission and the engine

Where does the transmission fluid go in my 2002 mercury sable automatic

Do you know where the dipstick for the transmission is? I assume you do if you know you need to add it. That is where the fluid goes. Stick a small funnel in the hole after taking dipstick out and pour the fluid. Remember don't overfill. Transmission fluid gets bigger when heated so always check when transmission is warm. Hope I could be of some help.

Where does the transmission fluid go in a 1991 mercury cougar

If you need to add fluid, just pour it in the tube that the transmission dipstick is in. Be sure to check it when the transmission fluid is fully warmed up and DO NOT overfill.

2002 mercury cougar vacuum line off the top of transmission

The hose connects to the top of the transmission, underneath the car's battery (you'll have to remove the battery to see the connection site). It's important that this hose, once reconnected, does not does not get crimped. If the hose is not free to "breathe" pressure buildup in the transmission can cause fluid to pour out of the fill point (where the dip-stick goes).
