Idle air control circuit - idle speed lower than expected.

Wiring, connections, idle air valve, throttle body, throttle valve sticking, faulty ECM, etc.

Hi. the air filter is in a cylindrical looking device that is connected to the intake throttle body, via plastic flex hose. it runs horizontal. you will have to un clip the plastic housing and extract the filter. i will post a picture below.

Fairly common problem on the 03-06 Rainier instrument clusters, it's caused by failing stepper motor on the cluster's circuit board and it can be fixed. Check out this page for more on it - Rainier oil gauge broken

2007 Buick Rainier 4.2 Code P0449, EVAP solenoid valve was replaced, codes cleared, code reappears within a minute. What else could be worn if not the Solenoid Valve?

The fact that it came on right way means that the code was correct and you jumped the gun in replacing the part. You've got a CIRCUIT issue, ie a wiring problem

2004 rainier egr valve location

Well, we have a couple problems here.

First of all, 2005 Buick Rainier is equipped with two different engines, 4.2L (VIN code "S") and the 5.3L (VIN code "P"). It would be really nice to know which one we are talking about.

Then, it doesn't really matter which engine your Buick is equipped with if you are looking for an EGR valve, because NEITHER of these engines is equipped with one.
