Retrieve the error codes and freeze frame data with the help of a Scan tool or diagnostic computer to exactly reach the problem.
Probably the problem could be found in the following areas:
- CVT Oil level too low, too high or contaminated.
- Short or open in the wiring.
- Engine speed signal malfunction.
- Input speed sensor, primary.
- Vehicle speed sensor CVT.
- Combination meter.
- Transmission faulty.
- ECM faulty.
- TCM faulty.

You need to have the transmission check for codes and operation concerns.

I have 2004 Murano with a code p1778 how could I go about to fix. Thank u.

code p 1778 refers to CVT step motor--mechanical malfunction===causes ---step motor
the CVT is a constant velocity transmission that has no gear ratios as such but uses a special belt between two pulleys that change flange widths in unison so that as the road speed increases one pulley gets smaller and the other larger
the step motor controls the pulley adjustment
Take it to a service dealer or an accredited specialist transmission shop with experience on that transmission

CVT jerking in 2012 Nissan Murano SL

nissan cvt's are well known for stepper motor failure.Plug the ECU onto a diagnosis machine to be sure but if the jerking is accompanied by failure to smoothly change up and down gears it is the stepper motor. If everythng else is ok check fuel pump

What is a driveline services for a 2004 Nissan Murano

the CVT transmission should not need service until 100k miles.

Additionally Nissan extended the service of all Muranos with CVT transmissiont to 120k miles.

you can check the forum nissanmurano.org for any Murano issues. I am not affiliated with that site but a regular user

Nissan cvt stock in low gear and wont change

ouch. since it's a Prairie and not a Murano i'm not sure but the Murano in US has a warranty to 120k miles on the CVT. Check your dealer if they offer that where you are

2001 nissan serena 4wd the cvt transimission acts up especially when going u a grade it changes into low grade and stays i have to turn off car and wait a bit and sometimes when moving off the transmission...

it sounds like it is overheating have you changed the fluid recently? does it have a transmission cooler?
These CVT transmissions were never built to be capable of extended offroad driving unless you have the necessary coolers etc
