Have a 2009 Saab 9.7x4,2i starter good alternater good but battery dies over night

you have a short or something staying on .like a dome lite perhaps some device plugged into a cig lighter socket . if you cant find the problem the only thing you can do is remove positive battery cable each night till you find what is draining the battery when it sits over night . seems like you checked the altenator already .

id say you have a drain somewhere have you installed something new lately check battery with a volt meter when running to be sure alternater is charging

dead cell in battery will take full charge and die rapidly

sounds like the beginning of an alternater going bad or a battery when it is on remove the positive cable if it is still running its charging and you will soon need a battery replacement hope this helps

if the battery is being drained there is something causing it to happen, check that all the lights are off glove box, trunk, you may have to get someone to get in the trunk & close it to see if the light goes out, when it is dark lift the hood & move the wiring everywhere you can to see if there are any sparks that might indicate a bare wire touching something.....hope this helps......cheers.

I'm not sure if the relays are marked by letters and numbers but the relay should be identified by the letter "K". One quick question; on the second attempt do you lose ALL power to everything? If this is the case you may be looking at a bad ground and would check the ground wire for starters at where it connects to the engine block. Wish I had a diagram of the fuse layout and hope it's marked by letters and numbers for you. I hope this helps and good luck.

you have a faulty alternater there is a speed sensor in the alternator that is linked to the power steering if the alternater isnt charging the steering wont work either replace the alternater and all should be ok

sounds like your alternater is not fixed. Your car ran off of battery power till you drained it. Complete alternater repair and charge battery. You can check if your alternater works by starting car and disconnect positive cable if it stays running your alternate is fixed. Shut car off and replace positive cable.

Drive the car to the auto parts store and have them test the battery and alternator for proper charge.  You probably just bought a dud, even though they are new.  Doesn't happen much but does happen.
