Central locking issue on my Land Rover Discovery II 2003

The rear passenger side door doesn't unlock with the central locking using my key fob. I have to open it manually from the inside. It will however lock using the key fob.

Does it open from the outside once you have manually opened it from the inside.

Inside the latch is a small circular spring that holds that latch up when the door is unlocked, if it wasn't there the locking solonoid would drain the battery, these springs have a habit of snaping. It's a fiddly job but not beyond anybody whos half a clue what there doing, Try ebay for the springs about £10 for 3door and about £15 for 5 door.

2004 Land Rover Discovery - My key will not unlock the doors. Why not? what do I do?

A dealer replacement is the only option to reset the system and that is an expensive fix. You can buy a replacement fob online but be careful - it will need to be fully compatible or you run the risk of locking yourself out OR losing the central locking function.
I have no connection with this seller, but at least they make all the right noises:

Do more homework - especially on the specialist Land Rover forums before buying

Cant unlock all doors on ford falcon

The older cars were not equipped with auto unlocking locks. Check some parts stores to see if there is a kit that can be installed to fix this.

Central locking not working on drivers and passenger door

I am having a similar problem with left rear door. I replaced the lock actuator, but it was still not working properly. The trick is getting the door handle in the right spot. The door handle is attached by a cable, and over time the cable is stretched. I used a rubber stopper behind the handle to get it into the exact right position and it worked perfectly.

When I use the key to unlock the land rover the front drivers door and front pass door unlock, the rear doors will not unlock on either side and the back door will not unlock.

Many rear doors have a child safety lever to keep the rear doors from unlocking. This lever will be located on the rear edge of the door and you can switch it to unlock those doors with the others. If you have the owner's manual it will give you directions, if not check with a dealer as they can tell you the procedure.

Land rover discovery central locking.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.

It may be set in the main menu to lock only by the fob. I know on GMC's there are about 7 different locking options. I'm not a specialist in Land Rovers but the cheapest way out is to check all your options on the dash/steering wheel buttons.

Range Rover Passenger Door Will Not Open

I have a 2002 land rover discovery and my passenger front door won't unlock with the interior lock button on the dash or with the key fob. The only way to unlock the door is to pull the handle on the inside of the door. Is the actuator bad?
