Engine intermittently loses power for long periods of time in my 2003 dodge grand caravan awd. It back fires through the intake when this occurs and sounds loke popcorn popping. gets terrible gas mieage. any idea what could be causing this? thanks

Check hose,s around inlet manifold check for air - leaks inlet manifold area, fit new fuel filter,new spark plugs, check fuel pump check timing ign and valve timing.
