My o/d off light started blinking while driving around 50 mph this week. There are no shifting problems at all and shutting off the vehicle resets the flashing light. I am told the previous owner recently pulled the dash apart to replace lights for the dash. Could this be causing the flasing o/d off light? I did go and get the error code from autozone, P0781.
No , the dash being taken apart would not have an thing to do with the transmission , the O/D light flashes when there is a trans problem , code P0781 states there is a problem with 1-2 shift solenoid , Low transmission fluid level , Dirty transmission fluid ,Faulty shifting solenoid valve ,Shifting solenoid valve harness is open or shorted Shifting solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection

Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop.
SOURCE: Maintenance Required Light flashes 5 times
check engine means you have to check your engine and open your trunk first and then check the engine. Once you open and check the engine and check if the engine lights still on. it should disappear in no time. Thanks for the time
