Put an amp clamp on the battery cable to see if anything is drawing it down while the key is off. It will always draw a small amperage because the computer doesn't shut off.

93 year Nissan maxima auto. Took battery out 6 mths ago.put new battery in today the motor turns over but doesn't want to start

  1. If you parked it 6 months ago there is a chance you;have chewed on wiring if it's outside by a field.
  2. make sure fuses are good, i know but (check anyway)
  3. does it have sufficient fuel to start ???
  4. if you parked the car with very low fuel left in tank , you may have a corroded fuel pump (internal tank pump)"trust me when i tell you this can happen"
  5. make sure no one played any tricks on ya under the hood !!!, good luck

Hi, My 2008 Subaru Forester will not start. Cannot even get the car to turn over and none of the lights come up on the dash. Neighbour checked the battery and confirmed that it had no power. Car is...

it is possible that the battery is faulty, most batteries only have two years warranty, it might be a good idea to replace it anyway because it may not last much longer anyway......hope this helps......cheers

2008 toyota tacoma. when do you replace timing chain?

Never.. just run it! Timing belts need to be changed, timing chains pretty much last the life of the truck. 147,000 on mine and no plans of changing it. Dealer told me that he has changed 6 in the last 6 years, many were not due to wear.

How many years should a new battery last in a new 2008 Equinox? It has been 2 years and the battery would not work the other day when I turned it on. Is it time to replace it already? Thanks!

it should last about 5-7 years but if you have any other amps, radios, subs,or any electronics added to it-that may be causing the problem.

1997 Maxima has had 4 alternators in 4 years!

Hey! I have a 97 Maxima SE and it runs great too! I have been through 4 alternators in 12 years....3 in the first 5 and finally one for the last 7. Make sure you have a new- Nissan part specific alternator. And, make sure your battery is not weak nor small for your car size. Hope this helps!

Batteries keep dying

A short somewhere. All shorts can lead to fires, so take it to the dealer or go to a mechanic who does electrical work such as a starter shop.
