SOURCE: Hi, I'm trying to change

Honda usually doesn't use drain plugs on their automatic transmissions - you'll need to remove the transmission pan to change the fluid. You will need a new gasket for the pan and you might as well replace the filter since you'll be there - the filter usually comes with a gasket and it is a great idea to change it if it is the original. There is no identifying marks on that filter to know if it is the original or not. Make sure you remove all of the old gasket from the tranny and the pan and wipe both surfaces down with a rag soaked in carb cleaner to ensure a good seal.

SOURCE: Where is the location on

Hello,
Manual transmissions have a fill plug and a drain plug on the side of the transmission. The fill plug is a little above the drain plug. Pull the fill plug and fill the transmission until the transmission fluid just barely seeps out and re-plug the transmission. That is the proper way to fill it. You will need a long stem funnel to give you the room you need to fill it. Your transmission requires a 10W30 weight motor oil, just like your engine. If you have a little time and 3 or 4 quarts of oil laying around you can pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug and let all the oil drain out. Then plug the transmission and re-fill it with fresh oil and this is a transmission flush for your transmission. You just saved $70 shop charge doing this. I say pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug because the last thing you want to do is pull the drain plug first and then find out the fill plug has welded itself and won't come out and now you can't fill the transmission. Fill plug first always.

Should I change the transmission fluid on my 2003 Honda Pilot that has 100,000 miles?

Yes, and make sure you use genuine Honda automatic transmission fluid, not aftermarket. Get an 18mm drain plug gasket while toy are at the dealer. This would be a drain and fill only, it holds 3.0 or 3.5 quarts. Do not flush, Honda states this is not good, and they are correct. If it has never been changed, you might consider doing it twice, drain and fill, drive it, drain and fill.

How do i drain transmission fluid and replace trans-filter 1996 chevy suburban 4x4 454

Finding where to put transmission fluid can be a bit of a challenge on some cars. In fact there are some transmissions that you can't even add fluid to.But that's not the case on your vehicle.

First confirm the level of fluid before filling it.==========For exact transmission fluid replacing/filling procedure.Go through the list of help links below:-----its having complete step by step procedure.Click the link :----

How to change the filter on the automatic transmission on Honda civic 89?

In the Civic the Transmission Filter is located inside the transmission, you must remove the bottom pan of the transmission, the filter is just below the Valve body, remove all the bolts from the pan and with a large catch pan under the pan gently pry the pan down, it is very messy as there is no drain plug, install the new filter element and then clean off all the old gasket on the transmission pan and the transmission, reinstall the pan with the bolts just finger tight, then evenly tighten the pan bolts down to about 12 foot pounds, add about 1.5 quarts of the correct ATF type fluid and run the car at idle until the transmission is hot, then top off the transmission fluid level, DO NOT OVERFILL.

2007 honda odyssey oil change and transmission fluid recommended change frequency

Have supplies ready(long stem funnel to reachfill hole, 4 qts honda genuine atf-z1, rags for drips)
1. First, park the car while its hot on a flat surface and turn the engine off. Locate the yellow transmission dipstick and remove it and wipe it clean.
2. Look for the the ATF fill plug and washer(below and to the left of the brake fluid reservoir) 17mm marked "ATF" and remove it.
3. Locate the drain plug(not the one on pointing towards the drivers front tire but its located on on the drivers side of the transmission pointing towards the passengers side and lying horizontally) and remove it along with the washer. Its blue and is a standard 3/8 square drive plug and remove it. Drain completely. (wait 15 min or so until ALL is gone and replace the plug after throughly cleaning the magnet that is attached to it).
5. Replace atf fluid(honda says 3.3 qts- but mine took 3.8 to bring to first hole in dipstick level-check while running(use honda z-1 fluid only-yes- its expensive).
6. Replace fill bolt and washer and tighten.
7. Replace dipstick, let engine get hot and recheck. Recheck again after driving a day or so.
Your done-good work, you saved a $100 dollars...

It can be changed for every 60000 miles..

98 toyota camry transmission service.

You can drain and fill your trans. It will take 2.5 -3.0 quarts of DEX III trans fluid....goes in the fill tube. Or you can get said transmission flushed which changes all fluid including torque converter.....about 15 quarts. Way more thorough.
