No computer is needed. You can program the remote using your car. I had a similar problem and was able to find a replacement keyfob remote online. It came with instructions on how to program remote. Only problem is that if you have multiple remotes, after you program the first one, you have to reprogram the rest of them or they will not work anymore.
You need a special computer for that. Either the Nissan service department or an aftermarket store that installs auto alarms, remote starters, etc, often have it and they can do the job.
Sit in the driver's seat of your Ford 500.
Insert the key in the ignition and turn it from "Off" to "Run" eight times within 10 seconds. The final turn should have the key in the "Run" position. You will hear the door locks engage; this means it is in programming mode.
Press any button on the remote; the door locks will engage again to confirm the programming. This must be done within 20 seconds of entering the programming mode.
Press any button on the second remote; the door locks will engage again to confirm the programming. This must be done within 20 seconds of entering the programming mode.
Turn the key to the "Off" position to complete the programming. The door locks will engage again confirming that programming is complete.
Decide on a series of five digits to be your personal code. Your code needs to be an easily remembered series or numbers.
Locate the keypad on the driver's door; it will be directly above the driver's door handle.
Press the buttons that correspond with the factory remote keyless entry (RKE) code. This code can be obtained from the dealership if it has been lost.
Activate the programming mode by pressing the "1'2" button within 5 seconds of entering the RKE code.
Delete the old code by pressing and holding the "1'2" button for two seconds.
Enter the new five-digit code that you created in Step 1. This must be done within five seconds of deleting the old code. The door locks will cycle when the new code is confirmed.
hope this helps you.
Hope this helps
