2010 Chevy Silverado wouldn't start after a night of freezing temps. Tried starting it with a portable charger. Negative side touched something and now it won't do anything. What should I do?

you will have to go into the big black box under the hood where the fuses are and check the start relay(read box for location) swap with another one just to see if the motor will turn over. if so replace with new one. good luck

Just a couple problems I've had. dome light left on due to faulty door open switch, spot light charger or equipment left plugged or wired to battery, lately I thought I had a bad battery but I just need to clean the terminal connections. One more thing if your car is running you can pull the negative cable off the battery. If the car dies your alternator could be the problem. If you have a light in the trunk or under the hood you could pull the bulb out to make sure you don't have a faulty switch turning them on. These are kind of simple and that is the way I start out.

You would need to cover the basics first - does it have spark to the plugs and normal fuel pressure at the injectors ?
Low fuel pressure could cause the code, as well as a vac leak.
There could be a problem with the coolant temp sensor telling the computer the temp is warmer than it really is.
Can you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and make the engine want to start ?

Battery was completely dead ? after how long , over night , or just out of the blue ? These year GM vehicle's 03 to 06 have instrument cluster problems , draining the battery . Do you know what parasitic draw is ? Google it . They used lead free solder constructing the electronics , an after a while it causes silver migration .
