Please leave these kind of jobs to specialised firms. It is not only replacing the gasket, the head and block must be flat. If not, special tooling must make them flat again. Without that the gasket will be blown out the first ride you make.

Hi there, I'm Al the owner of Big As Auto Repair

If you've never changed a head gasket before and you do it wrong it can be very costly to you. Because if you fail to set up the timing correctly you can bend every valve in the head costing you big time money. BUT, if you are still wanting to do it yourself go to my website, click on "Contact Us" and give me all the information about you car. "Engine size, Make, Model, Year and VIN number and your name. I'll help you step by step, BUT, understand I will not be responsible if you miss a step and bend the valves, but if you listen carefully and follow instructions we should be able to get you through. It's up to you, my website is below. Have an awesome day! Auto Repair

How much will it cost to fix a blown head gasket in a 99 Mitsubishi eclipse?

By a licenced mechanic in a reputable shop, probably as much as the car is worth. Both gaskets need to be replaced and the cause for them to have blown also has to be determined and fixed.

Deei just changed my head gaskets on my v-6 eclipse. now i have a oil leak and i have smoking. is it because of a bad seal, on my head gasket

could be, the first thing i would do is get the cyclinder head bolts torqued to right setting.Provided the cyclinder head is not warped ie the engine did not overheat before gasket was replaced? All heads have to be rechecked/retorqued after about 1000mls anyway, adrian,,,,,,,,,,,,
