I have a 2004 Mustang with a 3.9. It will crank but won't start. I have done a scan on it and everything looks OK. The cam sensor reads good but when you unplug the connector it still reads good. Does this mean the PCM is bad?

I personally would check the fuel pressure. Then I would go back to the coil. I have seen brand new bad coils out of the box. The symptoms of a loss of power point to this component, especially if the car idles well, but loses power when accelerating. Please do not rate this reply - we all are left to grasp at straws since you have changed pretty much everything. Good Luck. Please post the final fix of the problem.
SOURCE: no start new crank & cam sensor no power to either sensor
Crank shaft sensor has a clearance specification. It controls the timing. the sensor on the head is an anti knock sensor and won't keep the engine from running. Good luck

it is possable/likely a bad ECTS (engine coolant tep. sensor), this can cause the injectors to allow to much fuel into cylinders and cause a low compression and or flooding situation, good luck, marty
CORRECT:
The diagram in the manuals should show the timing marks on both cam gears to be on the blue timing chain links.

Hi Tim cofer, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Have you tested your fuel pressure and checked for spark?
Not necessarily. Does it have fire to the plugs when cranking and does it have fuel pressure to the fuel rail?
