that light is the engine warning light you should go and have your car checked over at a garage running very low on oil can cause some serious problems with your engine. you'll also have to go to a garage to get them to turn your light off.

Its your Idle speed valve. PCS (part supplier) quoted me £45 + vat for the part. Easy fit but I paid a mate £10 to do it for me

Problem with 2001 1.6 Focus which i was going to purchase for the wife, but problem with central locking! key fob totally dead even when i tried the reprogramming trick (key in ignition press button several times) and when locking/unlocking manually, central locking only working intermittently! Should be fairly easy. Make sure to disconnect the positive battery cable. Remove the cover from around the column behind the steering wheel. Should take a star driver to remove the screws holding the cover together. Once the screws are removed pop the cover apart and you will see the multifunction switch on the column, should have two to three screws holding it to the column remove the screws and it should come out pretty easy replace with new one and put back together.

if it has a belt (not a chain) it will need replacing when the car is 10 years old or when the engine has done 100 000 miles or which ever comes first
