I ASSUME THAT YOU MEAN THE INTAKE PLENIUM GASKET IF THE TUNE UP CONDITION IS NEW OR ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS OLD RULE IT OUT BUT I THINK YOUR PLUGS ARE OLD AND OUT OF GAP AND ONCE YOUR SPEED INCREASE'S TO THAT LEVEL RPM'S THE SPARK IS TRYING TO ARC OR JUMP TO FAR TO MAKE CONTACT CHECK THEM AND GET BACK TO ME AND CHECK THE BOOTS THEY MAAY BE CRACKED AND LEAKING + VOLTAGE TO - GROUND IN THE HEAD, ALSO YOUR THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR CAN BE WORN OUT IF YOU STEP DOWN ON THE PEDDLE AND THE RPM'S INCREASE AFTER YOU GET TO THAT SPOT THE SENSORS BAD BUT I STILL THINK YOUR PLUGS ARE WORN GOOD LUCK STEPHEN

I hear a clunking noise in the front of the car and my wife says it sounds like it bottoms out

she is right. replace the vaccum hoses and all rubber connectors that have a vaccum suction to the throttle body and the grommet gasket seals to your intake. should be 4 elbows and three vaccum plugs, and two gromet gaskets (Intake Air sensor & Intake Vaccum). Remember a small crack can cause it to bottom out and stall and probably have poor milage. [email protected]

1998 Ford Windstar 3.8L ScanTool says that Bank 1 is lean

if your getting oil in the air filter area, you have a leaking intake gasket or a leaking head gasket, run a compression test on it,
if the compression is where it should be on all cylinders then its a leaking intake gasket!!!

05 Impala missfire code 301 have changed

check intake for vaccum leaks, the gasket also and egr valve, thats alot of parts to have replaced without diagnosing first, if there are no fuel leaks and you said all injectors were replaced then you have a defective fuel pump, also these engines had misfire problem because of dirty injector but you replaced them so count that out. good luck.

1997 mazda mpv multiple misfire codes. Have replaced plugs, wires, t-belt and tensioner. Compression is good.

Would look into fuel pressure, mass air flow sensor (may be dirty, very common) , and possilbility of restricted catalytic converter. Crank sensor can also be a possiblilty. Is the air filter in good working order? A large vacuum leak could also cause the condition.
Good hunting.

1999 windstart upper intake gasket problems maybe?

sounds like an intake leak or a vacuum leak , would start it and spray like carb cleaner or starting fluid on the top of the motor while it is cool not hot and see if you get a rise or fall in rpm,s if it does get a response chase down the vacuum leak, if not it is probally the intake gasket

03 windstar rough idle working bad, worse in the rain

ford has a technical service bullitin out on this vehicle for the intake gaskets leaking causing a vacum leak that set codes 171 174. the solution is to have the intake manifold gaskets replaced . call your local ford dealer and see what thay can tell you about this bullitin.

My Ford 2000 Windstar van is missing

Since you are getting the 171 and 174 at the same time you need to replace the mass air flow sensor.then clear the codes. After which take the car for a drive and let me know how it does.

2002 Ford Windstar Oxy Sensors

There are issues with upper/lower intake gaskets on this engine. Also make sure you don't have a tube disconnected from the air intake between the air filter box and thottle body. If everything is connected, I would be renewing the upper/lower intake gaskets. This will cause lean codes to be set, and you may have noticed a ratty idle on cold start-up. Hope this helps. Good Luck and please leave rating. Thanks
